Needing some pump advice

Hey, first time trying out a hydro grow and looking to build a vertical NFT system using a 6" pvc pipe. I plan to build about 9 six foot tall towers. So my question, what size pump will I need to supply enough water to 9 towers at 6 feet high?

Through my own research, I read about 400 GPH will be needed for just one tower. Is it safe to assume I should just scale that proportionately? So I should be looking for a 3600 GPH pump?

Help me out rollitup

NFT does not require a fast flow a 6ft tray would work fine with 500-600 LPH or 100-150 GPH
if the system you are creating is using pipes rather than trays and the water
travels across a curved surface this will cause the flow to be less shallow
this kind of system may also need an air pump or some sprayers to keep the solution better aerated

with a flat surface system the flow can stay between 3 and 10 mm deep
depending on the mass of the rootmat/system

how much extra pressure you will need to pump the stream up vertically 6ft
so it can fall back down again i do not know but the pumps do show on the spec
how far upward they can pump like if it were a fountain pump etc

peace

Seems like an awful amount of work to grow in vertical pipe- I admire you innovative thinking but are you sure it would not be easier to go horizontally? I've had great results using Stinkbuds NFT/aeroponic flower rail design

You will need to check the specs to see the lift capabilities. A lot of the pumps fall off drastically when lift is that high. Interesting project though. Post pics when its up and running.
