I saw this a few weeks ago on a post. We made a mistake and decided it was a rodent. I need to find that guy's thread and pass this on.

I'm pretty sure you could see the where the double teeth scraped the outer stem at the top in one photo.
Then you can see the ridge where it moved over and scraped again. Then it chews at the bottom, typical rodent damage.
