New Clone...Need Help!

Hi everyone! I just purchased a clone and I need some help to make sure I start it out properly. It is currently in a rock wool cube and I am going to be putting it into soil (fox farms) and then growing it indoors as my other one with a 400w MH. Are there any special instructions or tips that I should follow once I transfer it into the soil? Is the 400w MH too strong for a new clone right away or should it be fine? Just want to get it started on the right track. Any tips or suggestions would be great...Thanks:joint:

Start off by potting into a smallish pot to allow it to develop a good root system. go easy on the nutes (if any at all) not sure if fox farms contains nutes.
400w is quite a lot for 1 little clone so place it quite high up and give it maybe 18/6 light hours/day
good luck

Yea i agree with the statement above about keeping that light a pretty good distance away, since 400w is way to strong for a just rooted clone, since its still in rockwool, that 400w will dry her out right quick. When you transplan i would recommend doing so into some quality soil, not MG or Scotts.... I would go with Fox Farm Ocean Forest, and yes it does have nutes in it (about 3 weeks worth). Basically transplant to good soil, keep the temps down and don't toast your clone w/ your 400w; if you do those simple thing you should be set for a great grow. One last thing PH your water!!!!! i dont know how many times people come on here asking why there plants look like shit, then say they have no idea what the PH is... it is gardening 101, read the FAQ and KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Good luck :joint::peace:

Yeah my main concern was the light being a bit too strong to start it out with but I will try moving it further away in the beginning. I did purchase the fox farms ocean forest so I will not use any nutes to start. I do always check the PH of my water so I should be good on that. ..is it not a good idea to start it off in a 3 gallon pot to start? Thanks for the tips...This site is great...I get all my 411 here so thanks again!

I throw my clones in 5 gallon buckets right away so i dont have to transplant, but if space and plant count is an issue start small and transplant, that way you can fit more plants under one lamp. There is no ill effects i know of from starting off with the container your going to finish in....

Ok cool, thats what I was hoping...I know transplanting isn't all that hard but being the newb I am, I would rather not take the chance of me F*cking it up somehow! Thanks 420inmyapt!

The only dodgy PH you get is if you don't condition your rockwool prior to use... if you condition it correctly you should have no problems with the PH...
