New Grow-New Strain! Check it out...

Hey all,

So I've completely redone my whole indoor setup. Changed from 250W HPS to 1000W HPS and added some ventilation. I germinated some seeds about 60 days ago and have had them in veg in a closet with a 150W CFL. 6 seeds germinated, 5 grew, 3 females. I put the 3 females into 12/12 about 6 days ago and this is where they are now.

All 3 are practically identical and are from a combination of a male I had and a female that a friend had. The male came from a batch of bagseed that produced really fat indica dominant sticky buds. The one in the avatar is one of the females from the same batch. The female is a really skunky smelling indica dominant and we put them together to get it on naturally. The result is what I have here, probably not an entirely new strain, but new to me and I'm excited about it!!

I'll keep things up to date if anyone is interested in keeping tabs...

It's like 2 months old as of October 1st. I basically germinate on the wet paper towel with some bottom heat, and plant the cracked seeds into peat pots with Jiffy seed starting mixture in them. Once the root pops out of the bottom of the peat pot, then I put them into small containers with FF Ocean Forest soil. I water with PH balanced tap water (my PH is high, so I use Citric Acid to lower), and feed with General Hydroponics Sugar Peak every other watering. Other than that I just leave them the hell alone and let them grow!!

Thanx for the comments, keep it up!! I had these crammed into a little tiny grow area and they just crowded around the CFL and grew like crazy. I swear by CFL for veg, it just makes them branch out like mad and you can put the light super close. My CFL is a huge 150W, you can see it in the pic but the plants in it are old ones-smoked them already

Got it at a local hydro store, they have blue spectrum and red spectrum versions. I got the blue spectrum 'cause I'm using it for veg. I think it cost about $100 for the bulb and socket. Practically no heat, so easy to ventilate.

So it's 10 days in now and preflowers are popping everywhere. Growth is really rapid now, averaging about 1 inch per day. I've seen sativas that grow several inches per day, but this is averaging pretty nice for an indica dominant. They were all about 11 or 12" when they went into 12/12 and now they are all over 18" tall. Enjoy the pics, I'll keep 'em coming about once a week or so.

those plants ae last. im only a beginer but its clear to see that these are healthy plants.

is there any chance i can grow without nutrients? if i change the soil say every 2 weeks? if no wot nutrients are good and cheap.. if there is such a thing cheers.

If you grow in containers with soil, then you will need nutes after about the first 30 days. It can vary with container size, but there is usually enough nutes in the soil to go for about a month. I would avoid trying to change the soil every 2 weeks, your plants will be in a perpetual state of shock due to constant transplanting. Nutrients can vary huge in price, but the most expensive are not necessarily the best. Your best bet at first is to go with a single part formula-one for veg, one for bloom and possibly one for finishing. The product I use is called Sugar Peak and it's made by Hydro Organics. It's actually made for hydroponics but works great in soil. You can find it online, I found it in a local hydro store. Quarts run about $12-15 locally. My total investment in nutes is about $40 and I have had them for 6 months and still have 3/4 of a bottle of each. I have heard of various results just using miracle grow, but I haven't tried it. The rule of thumb is that veg has a higher N rating, bloom has less N and more P & K, and finishing formulas usually have no N and plenty of P & K.

You can spend a couple hundred bucks on a full Fox Farm or Advanced Nutrients program, but hold off on that until you get more experience. I have seen some pretty amazing results with these 2 programs, but they require keeping up with a demanding schedule and they cost a bunch if you go for the entire program.
