New Grow question

So I am going to be doing a single plant in my closet, and I'm trying to find resources for advice, suggestions, and so on. The box is gonna be cardboard, but the dimensions available in the closet are as follows:
16 inches deep
36 inches length
55 inches height

My question is, will the 16 inches provide enough space for depth, to initially start a single plant? I'd rather not constrict it's growth if possible, but this is going intended to be very inconspicuous and am trying to work with the space I have.

it should work just fine. you can just hang the plant branches so they don't stick out on the sides. to bad you cant turn the entire closet into a grow would be much better easy to hang lights lot more space

I wouldn't waste my time and especially if I was worried about someone finding it..one plant in a little grow cab means your using cfls for flower? You might pull like a half o to a o tops and id this is you're first grow likely you get less and it won't be that good...just go buy a bag and read alot more on the subject and wait until you have a real space to use

Yeah, it is my first grow. Also, if I could use my whole closet, I could basically setup a farm. My closet is literally half the size of a full master bedroom. We are renting and relatively paranoid, so it needs to be low key. I was planning on using two 25W 6500K CFLs, and building the box out of cardboard, painting the inside white, and getting two fans...but I do want to do more research before I begin. Hence the post. ;)

I would invest in a decent carbon air scrubber and a hepa filter beforehand if your in an apartment. It sure wouldn't be fun to come home one day to the whole apt complex smelling funny. I'm at day 30 from seed and when I open the door in the closet there is a detectable odor within the closet but the carbon filter is doing the job.

We're in a house....a huge house. So I'm not overly concerned with smell. I've changed the location in the closet to allow for more space, so the dimensions available are now 30x36x55. That should be enough right?

So if 2x25 for only one plant will cover the first 2 weeks, would it be better to arrange 4 instead? I'm definitely trying to look as far ahead as possible. I'm not concerned about anyone in the house bitching about it, I just want to keep it low key for company or landlord concerns.

I misunderstood you I thought that was your whole closet not your allotted grow space, you will have plenty of room and yes I would definitely go with four..the smell will be pretty much the same, its more worth the risk and electric bill, and it will be more fun lol here is a similar sized grow I did with five plants to give you an idea of what you can do in that space

Very nice! I appreciate the feedback. I'll be setting a box up soon, as funds start to trickle in, and I'll post pics as I go.
