New grow with fluro

i am a new grower and i have two fluro lights. Im wondering if i can use them for just one (or two) plants in a small area for the flowering stage. I have a LED flashlight and im not sure but i heard that thats good for flowering.

Also can i have the fluros close to the seedlings, or will that hurt it? i know fluros dont make much heat.

You can use them for multiple plants. How many watts and what spectrum are the lights you have? The led flashlight can stay in your toolbox :)

They are 60 watt and 900 lumens each. Im not sure about the color spectrum. (soft or cool white)?
Hmm. Are you sure they are 60watts, or made to replace a 60 watt incandescent. 900 lumens seems low for a true 60 watt cfl. I'm thinking you may have a 18-23 watt furo. You can keep the fluros close to the plants within a couple inches. You want to use the 6000k spectrum for veg, and the ~3000k for flowering. When i use fluro's, I like the 26 watt (100 watt incandescent equiv). I would consider adding a few more to increase your grow potential. You can get a li creative and make your own light rail by using a power strip and get the plug in lamp sockets to have 3-4 fluros in a row. mix the spectrums of bulbs as needed. another option is to get a 3 way outlet and plug in 3 bulbs to it.

Well ya it uses 13 watts of energy, but outputs 60 watts and isnt the output what matters? Im actually pretty sure that its about 3000k. I dont think i will be able to get a third light in.
I ended up germinating 5 seeds so i didnt want to waste so much, so i planted 4 of them (just bagseed, not a big waste). Could the 2 lights work for that? I have 4 because im not sure what gender theyll be, so im assuming that (50/50) will leave me with 2 flowering female plants.

I have the lights like 2 inches above the dirt, just planted today. Should i be doing this?
