Hello, So I have decided to give growing a shot. I am looking to grow 6 plants. Looking at a 4x4 tent. I am going to get one blackstar 260 and add another down the road. That is about all that is really definite and that is really liable to change. Hydro or soil? I know I am going to get drilled for this but, http://cgi.ebay.com/Hydroponic-Grow-System-DWC-Drip-Combo-Complete-setup-/160565454171?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item6b1b59bfca
Is this a real option? Basically I have seeds on the way and say $800 ish to spend. I could go this route http://htgsupply.com/Product-HTG-600w-Grow-Kit.asp
Basically I am just confused. I have read, read, and read some more. There are so many different ideas and no one seems to agree on anything. There is time for planning. I would like to do this somewhat correctly if at all possible the first time or At least buy gear that I can build onto in the future?

Any helpful ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated folks, Thanks DC

If you've never grown before, IMO you should go soil. One less thing to worry about.

And you're right. The plethora of information out there can be daunting. 1-Soil(Don't skimp on soil, get Fox Farm),2-Lights(Ballast,reflector/hood,Bulb,TIMER),3-Fans(High Velocity)4-Nutriants. 5- GOOD GENETICS/SEEDS-<-- thats all you need. I've found that its VERY simple to grow marijuana. As long as you have those 4 things. Even if you mess up, these plants can be very forgiving. Or at least the 20+ plants I've grown have been.

Oh, and don't over water.

That tent looks nice btw. HTGsupply is a great place to buy from. I'm lucky enough to live within driving distance to one.Tents are too restrictive for me though. I like to have room to make adjustments, changes or add-ons.
