Thanks. That's what I figured, but wasn't sure if they could actually be matured before flowering.
Some will, but not all will show. Growing is much more relaxing if you don't bother trying to figure out the sex before flower. I mean...if the plant has pollen sacs that are 100% obvious, before flower, then go ahead and get rid of them (unless you want to breed). But, if you can't tell, then don't fret over it, because even pollen sacs need time to develop before they can do any damage. They need to swell up and split open to release pollen.
Any thoughts on what strain they might be? As I said, these plants came from a large collection of stray seeds from over the years. I assume by looking that they are indica dominant hybrids, but that's a guess based on sight only.It should be very apparent before it is an issue, relax, you have this.
Anyone who tells you they can tell what strain you are growing, by the looks of it, is lying...unless it is some rare strain that has a very unique mutation.
Everyone has their own preference. I personally wait until I have 6 nodes, top just above the 3rd node, and remove everything below the 3rd node. No, you don't want a "totally red light" for flowering.
Can I see a picture of what that looks like after you've topped it?
So I took your advice and decided to top the two smaller of my plants. Look right?
1st attempt at topping. They must not have understood what the graphic meant by "nodes" is my guess.
