new growroom trouble. NEED HELP i have a 8 x 8 x 8 basement room need opinons

Hi ... im new here and new to hps lights, ive used fluros to grow a plant about 10 years ago in a closet, but now i think im in the right situation to grow a little more detailed operation. I have plans to turn my basement room into a grow room, it is 8 x 8 x 8, with old block wall foundation. coincidently, the blocks are acually painted white in that room, but no where else in the basement. , old chipped white paint. the house was built in the 1800's. really nice and cool down there, now my question is. how much light would be needed for that space? im a right to assume 1, 1000 watt lamp would be enough to do what in that room? could that produce a couple pounds in one harvest? maybe say 10 females? i need help understanding how much light i need to grow how much in that room. i think i understand that i need a hood cooled hps to keep the heat down or should i say a hps 1000 watt lamp with a built in fan to keep the light cool., then possibly another fan blowing air in ? here are picks of the room. theres a work bench that stretches all the way across, theres a doorway with no door. then the steps to the right to go upstairs. i want to keep it as simple as i can with a 1000 watt lamp if thats enough light, please give me some good opinons on what you would do, i really dont wanna have to install exhaust ducts cause i cant

first get some holy water drench your grow room with get rid of all that evil shit lol jk dude 1800's is pretty old fucking i know some one has died in that lil room lol ok lets get down to buisness. yea it would be fine just depends on how many plants your trying to grow, just get some emergency blankets and put them up on the wall or alot of mylar or just flat white paint for reflection, an take care of ventilation, and a intake fan idk lol im in a grow cabinet but i would love to have space like that i would be able to do lots of things.

can i grow 15 nice looking females that produce 2 to 3 ounces per plant with one 1000 watt light in that room ?

i would say 14 plants and depends on nutes your using soil or hydro and temps ect. alot of factors

i plan on using soil, with perlite. nice easy and cheap, will that work just potting soil mixed with 1/3 perlite ?

nope if your gonna go cheap on simple things like soil then your gonna be dissapointed go buy some fox farm products fox farm ocean forest soil + grow big + big bloom +tiger bloom those are the nutes & soil

whatever happined to keeping things simple, you dont NEED that to grow a mj plant.

you a 1000W hps will be nice for that room, dont complicate it to much i grew 2 very nice plants with basic nutes in soil and a 600w hps

how come you grew only two tho, aint 600w hps enough for like 6-7 plants ? yea i think i will go with better soil. but i want soil i can buy right out a store, not online, it looks as tho that stuff you were talking bout, i googled it and you have to buy online. cant i just buy a few things from home depot?

8x8 I would use 2-600w and use 32sq.ft and plant 32 plants Veg 1 month and flower. YOU DO NOT NEED FOX FARM SOIL TO GROW GOOD DOPE! What you do need is an understanding as to what goes into "good" soil.... Peat Moss, Perlite are the foundation of all the soils out there. get a bottle of Osmocote 14-14-14 and mix according to directions. Mix 75% Peat Moss 25% perlite and nutes, water and plant. Add water as needed. Thats it! IT IS that easy, you all have been brainwashed by Fox Farm marketers, Shame on you all. Everything I listed is avalioable at any Home Depot and Wal-Mart so there is no reason to buy that crap when you can make it.. GO GREEN and Peace!

im not using a hps im using cfls and yes you can by those in a store do you have a local nursery or hydroponic shop google it in your state an city and it'll give you locations on where there at its much cheaper if you buy at a store neways online is like double the price because of fucking gay shipping.

yes a 1.5 qubic ft for like a big ass bag for 19bucks believe me my plants are not even 2 weeks yet an there growing a new set of leaves every day bro no joke this stuff works miracles im not kidding

dude this guy doesn't knows what he's talking about but again your a newbie the shit he's talking about is gonna cost you alot more then just buying a bag that has everything you need to start off with and be fine for the first month of vegg because it already has the nutrients you need for the first month in it, like he said "YOU DO NOT NEED FOX FARM SOIL TO GROW GOOD DOPE!" well true you dont but you wont be getting good yeilds out of no cheap soil believe that nonscense if you want but thats all on you, if you want good yeild and good buds go with fox farms dude i dont got a job i go to school basically im broke. if you save up some money you can buy it seriously!

im considering using a 600watt, everywhere i read, people say the 1000's are to hot and a waste is this true? and .... 2, 600 watts would be kinda hot in that 8x8 right ? what i also need is like, how do you setup exhaust for the heat? so lets say in my room, i put a 600 watt hps hanging from the ceiling with the 6in cool tube reflecter. ok so now i buy the 6in inline fan... but where does it go ? i look at the pictures with exhaust, but i cant c which end has the carbin filter and which end has the fan attched. or however it goes. i dont know how it goes.

my room is about the same as yours, so let's get together on this and brainstorm. we could replicate ideas and take half the time to really have a great setup. I'm planning on Scrog with a vertical centerpoint light and then maybe some supplemental leds or compact cfls or something of the like. DEF must incorporate a cmh (ceramic metal halide) they are SUPER!
