new growth is yellowish, rest of plant is green (PICS ATTH)

this was an issue i had throughout all the veg. stage (5 days into 12/12 now).

the newest leaves that started to grow were yellowish, but as they got bigger they turned a very nice green like the rest of the plant.

is this from over watering or too many/too few nutes? im using a 6500K CFL and miracle grow soil and pearlite (both are supposed to release 3mon of nutes).

i have put too much pearlite so if anyone thinks it is over-nuting then that could be a possibility, im not sure if deficient in nutes bc it's only been 2mon.

the plant otherwise seems very healthy. the stem is very strong and pretty dense growth on the bottom half. im not sure if it's a female or male yet (just 5th day of 12/12)..

Oh and if anyone knows why my leaves are so small/thin. i see other plants that have HUGE leaves and fat.

i dont think this is even a chronic strain of plant, the seed originated in southern calif. but I now live in gnarnia.

U have the wrong lights....I believe the warm white are 2700k. That soil isnt the greatest, dont rely on the nutes in it....Go and get some bloom nutes and start at low doses... Other than that its looking good....

for soil i just use miracle grow Organic soil, there isnt any nutes in it.....and i add worm castings

so into flowering i should drop down in KELVIN, ie. white to yellow? also, does this happen w. over nuting or under nuting? i have some other good nutes, the kind u mix in water, but when i was using it my plants were even more yellow, had brown spots and even holes.

i stopped nuting and my plant began to "look healthier". i water everyday bc i want to flush out stale water. i have really good draining and my plant is in a small trashcan, about 1.5-2ft deep. i know w. bigger pots u need less watering, but since i have such good drainage i want to just keep replacing stale water w. new water....is this bad?

I understand ur need to replace the water but ur affecting ur root growth.....when the soil dries, the roots start searching for water getting bigger....larger roots = thick foliage... how much nutes are you giving them? whats the npk ratio on them?

Those plants are perfectly healthy. The new growth is yellow because the plants are growing so fast. Congratulations!.....you're good.

UF are u totally sure? i am relieved that the leaves do turn green once they get bigger. as far as the over watering, i do like sunnyd's explanation of letting the soil dry so that the roots are forced to look for water and get bigger. at this point it's hard for me to tell how we the soil is bc my pot is so DEEP, it's a trash can.

well in a normal pot...haha u usually go 2 inch down....maybe 8-9 for u?,,,,not sure...moisture meter is all i think of or wait until u see a slight droop in the leaves when its gettin dry

you're not overwatering. If you need to know when to water you should judge by the weight of the plants. pick it up when the soil has been completely saturated, then everyday untill it feels really light. Your plants can't get any healthier. Keep on doing what you've been doing.

my leaves seem perky. what do u mean go down? u mean like w. the touch of ur finger feel how moist the soil is? ive got skewers that i can poke down but i didnt want to accidentally poke and break a long root strand.

i have good drainage though, every time ive done a flushing (when ive thought it was over-nuted) the water dripped out almost immediately even though i have a 2+ft pot.

I'm a newbie but Sativa plants generally have thinner leaves while Indica strains have broader fan leaves. You are probably growing a Sativa (which gives you a headier high as opposed to the couch potato high of an Indica).

DUH, almost forgot. What are your temperatures and humidity? I read somewhere (help me out if I'm wrong guys and gals), that if a plant is subject to high temperatures, the leaves become broader to help the plant transpire water (like sweating). If your plant is in fact an Indica and has thin leaves, it may be related to cooler temperatures.

Again, I'm a newbie but have been reading voraciously.
