New growth looks like cr@p!

Hi
Im starting off some autos for an outdoor grow and as per the title, the new growth on half of my girls looks absolutely horrendous! Burned brown and no sign of healthy new growth at all. I thought it might be heat burn but my lamp is 6 - 8" away and its only 4 x cxa2530 which are very low output so i dont think thats the issue. It did seem to begin after the last feed with mid strength nutes but if it was nute burn wouldnt it affect the whole plant and not just the new growth?
My yellow sticker has 3 bugs on it and i did spot a tiny beetle like bug but ive not seen anything else.
Any ideas folks?
Cheers!DSC01304.jpg DSC01305.jpg DSC01308.jpg DSC01303.jpg

Sorry, its in Plagron seedling and cutting compost and nutes are Canna A/B Veg. My plan is to flush them but my cheapo ph meter crapped out on me, im picking up a decent one tonight. Buy cheap, buy twice !
Wateringwise, its been ph'd water with 2ml per litre of nutes, until theres some runout from the holes every 2 or 3 days. Does that sound like too much?
There's a good reason why i sound like a noobie...
Cheers!

just started flushing, the runoff is ph 5.6 and 125 ppm...if it was a nute issue wouldnt the ppm be higher?

Cheers, well the last watering was Friday, dont really have a fixed routine, my general idea is if they look happy dont water, when they start looking thirsty then they get a drink...

You should not stick to a set schedule if you are in soil. Each plant uses water different. Pick your pots up daily. Do not water until it feels like it is full of air not soil. Or just when wilting is noticed.
This promoted healthy roots.
You can recover easy from underwater. Overwatered plants die.

Just noticed you said compost...not soil?

Seeds started in hot soil can tolerate it for a while but it will eventually overwhelm them.
It's a know practice to add perlite to any soil mix. Along with other mediums. To add drainage and increase oxygen in the medium. With pure compost which I have never used. I would shoot for a crazy high percentage of perlite. Like 75 percent maybe? Then top feed with more as you go or ad nutes as needed? Never grown in compost. Make my own soil and recycle it.

Roots need water. But they need air to.

Hiya
Im using this stuff: https://www.plagron.com/en-ES/product/seeding-&-cutting-soil---A-healthy-start-for-seeds-and-cuttings.html
Stoopidly I didnt mix any perlite in. I think the roots are in quite a bad way, theres a bunch of roots coming out of the pot holes, id be very suprised if theres not some tangling of roots which obviously aint helping.
After the flush my girls look overwatered but thats to be expected i guess. To make matters worse, my girls will be transplanted outdoors tomorrow, i have no choice as im flying abroad on Wed...fingers crossed a new home might perk them up but it could equally go t!ts up!

ALL my plant have roots showing in the holes, all have tangling roots, no matter pot size, one gallon , five gallon or 30 gallon garbage can, every one has roots coming out the bottom and twirling inside too.
read some dis k http://catnews.org/FREE Pot Books/

You burnt them up with nutrients just like 99% of people on this forum do. And it IS effecting your entire plant. Your lower leaves show signs of being burnt to a crisp.

like the other thread though, this is a great way to grow low thc varieties aye?
just follow the directions the buffoons pass around on the forum..over feed, feed to the end, dry in your grow space, keep
high humidity, flush more, perfect=low thc! I swear many here are out to make sure problems continue, like grow store owners maybe?

Thanks for the input thus far guys, really appreciate it.
Ok so its nute burn. I put 1 litre through each pot last night, its not far off the same volume of water once through the same volume of the pot. I read somewhere 3 x the volume of the pot should be the rule for a flush. I thought i could do another flush tonight but my girls look like theyre drowning from the h2o. Theyre looking extremely limp and over watered so im really reluctant to drown them with another flush.
Im way under the nute % from the canna feeding schedule, i cant figure out why ive burned my gals so much. They are Jock Horrors from Nirvana, very cheap seed bank but well regarded, maybe its crappy genetics...or (more likely) i fu(ked up somewhere.
Shall i do another flush?
Thanks guys youre incredibly helpful :)

Add some perlite to the hole outside! A bunch of it. It helps with drainage but it also traps oxygen in the dirt because if it's funky shape. Everytime I water my plants there's tons of bubbles that come up the sides of the pots. I don't have any rootball pics from last harvest. I'll take some this time. Usually the whole 3 gal or 5 gal is just roots no dirt left. Roots and perlite lol.

Ok so I've never burnt a plant.....I know I know nobody is going to believe me. But it's honestly true. Now. I have locked out nutes from to much of one thing or another. And from not phing water. But this was years ago.

When you flush. Use at least 3x the volume of water of the pot. If the burn was very bad use 5x the pot volume of water. All ways mix at least some perlite in your dirt. I like to mix it in until the dirt becomes spongy and won't make a sloppy hard mud ball. This will help with drainage. Help prevent over watering. And perlite also traps air in the dirt because of it's funky shape. And we all know roots favorite this is air not fucking nutrients.

Now in your case only watering with the volume of the pot and no more.....this is bad. All this does is re hydrate the all ready to much salt in your soil. So essentially for attempting to force feed your plant with nutrients. Ever notice when your feeding water evaps? Like in the drip tray or something? It looks like salt water or very hard water like your in prison or some shit.
When you add nutes over and over or to many in a feeding. When the medium dries it leaves all that salt behind. The purpose of flushing is to wash all this salt build up out. Only using 1L of water in a 1L pot will not accomplish this. Sorry to edit. Thought of something. If you always water to 20 percent to 30 percent runoff when you water or feed. This will help to wash some salt out every watering helping to avoid your locking out or overfeeding.
Look up seaweed extract as well. It's super beneficial for shocked or hurt plants.

If your plants are truly locked out then you have to. I repeat have to flush. Or it will eventually die..

So you have to make the call. If you think you washed all the salt out with your flush then you should be ok. If not then you need to do a proper flush.

Search around here and Google on flushing. Maybe ask a well known member who's been on-site for years. I've only just joined.

Wish you the best of luck.

Some great info there cheers man. Just doing a more thorough flush.
The label on the canna a & b says 4ml of each per litre, so 8ml per litre. I used 2ml per litre. Strange how this was too much? I plan on doing a DWC later so i got the hydro nutes but from what i read, using hydro nutes in soil is ok. Maybe not...?

Well the girls are out, hopefully enjoying their first day of real sunlight. I could have done without the headache of the nute burn but it's in the lap of the Cannagods now. Just wanted to say thanks for the input, cheers guys!
