:weed:hi I am new her eand I was hoping people could possibly help me with a few questions. First would be I have never grown indoors before but I was always told that flourescents were no good to grow under but I see lots of people here that do, was I completely misled? Second I am gathering the materials to start an indoor grow and wated to try hydroponics. I did purchase a system off of e-bay but was hoping someone could help me out and tell me what they thought the best economical system might be. I know that the light question belongs in another forum but typing this out is like death for me so my apoligies. included is a pic of the system I bought let me know what you think of it

Yes, you can & many do grow with CFL's.

Looks like to bought a DWC (deep water culture) system. Did it come with an air pump & airstones?

There's a ton of great info here, but the search function isn't the best. Just google your question and a number of related thread will pop up.

weed grows best in water that has a pH of 5.5 to 6.5, with 5.8 to 6.0 being the best.

buy a pH meter, around $40, and this will help you keep your water in balance.
