Greetings all
ever since trying my 1st hit of med. mari. I was hooked. I now have the problem of living in a non-med state. Have a family so I can't just pick up and move so I guess I'm going to try to grow some myself. I grew some back in the day but nothing like the set ups thats out there today. So where would I need to start? Any help is appreciated....
1. Start small and cheap -- There's no sense in spending thousands of dollars on your first grow. You are most likely going to run into problems. It's inevitable, and the worst thing that can happen is destroying an entire room of crops.
2. Start with CFLs -- Not only are they cheap, but they are very forgiving when it comes to common 'noob' mistakes.
3. Start with at least two plants -- If you mess up on one plant, at least you have another.
4. Keep your mouth shut -- If you're in an illegal state, the last thing you want are DEA agents breaking down your front door.
5. Leave your plants alone -- Don't check on them more than 3 times a day. Many people here say the number one 'noob' mistake is over-watering or under-watering. They are wrong, it's the separation anxiety that many first time growers experience with their plants. They will check on them every 15 minutes, and not that there is a problem with admiring your own work, but it often times ends up leading to over-fertilizing, over-watering, etc.
6. Start in soil -- Very forgiving when it comes to mistakes. You will see a lot of biased opinions on this community when it comes to hydro vs soil. Trust me, you'll thank yourself that you started in soil.
