new house new room..

i will be soon moving into my new house that i just bought.. there is an 8'x8'x8' room in the basement that i want to grow in.. i will have 2- 35gallon barrels to use to water the plants because i am doing a soil grow.. and i'm planning on using 4 600watt hps lights for the room.. veg will be done in a seperate room but this is just for flowering.. my plan is to invest about $6000 into the flowering setup.. i want it to automated also.. meaning the fans cut of at a desired temp or humidity.. and having heavy duty times on a main control pannel... the veg room will just have mothers and clones in it when the clones get about 1ft i will put them into flowering.. each plant will be in a 2L tub and then moved to a 5gallon bucket when put into the flowering room... as far as electrical goes i can get whatever i need hooked up because one of my bestfriends is an electrician... anything anyone wants to ask or give sudgestions to is awesome because i'm looking to improve the setup.. also how many plants should i put in there? because i need space for the 2 barrels.. (one on top of the other) and i also need room to get in between the plants to water and for regular matinance of them... thanks

Soil? Is there a reason or are you just unfamiliar with hydro? Have a look at what happens in aero with the space and lights you are talking about:

I agree. Plus you got the space now, cut off a corner to play with hydro.

yeah i think i just might.. i could have a few plants in hydro and a few in soil and see what i like more.. and then that decision will determine what the rest of them will be thanks... have any other advice or sudgestions for me?

that's why i like soil soo much it's very basic to operate.. you need alot of stuff for hydro.. like a res and tables and all of that stuff.. but for soil all you need is some good earth and some nutes and water and your set.. i think i will try a hydro table in that room though and also do aome 5 gallon buckets with soil too.. as for now i'm just trying to get some more advice on the setup of my room.. what cfm in and out fans to get and everything.. i don't near a garden store or a hydro store so i need to go to a way bigger city to get what i need and it will be a 1 trip thing.. i'm paying in cash to.. so i need a list of everything that i will need for when i go there so that i don't forget anything.. i don't trust the internet for getting that type of equipment...

Well if ya got $6k to spend, really just need the circulation fans and the AC. Add in CO2 and your set. When checking on them leave the door open for an airs change over.

But for the 4 600W'ers, I'd cool-tube/hood them daisy chain 2 and the other two. (ie: cooling only 2 per fan) 2 S&P TD150 should work well to keep lights cool. (I can keep my hand on my hood's glass cover, and a beer on top of the hood)

Better coverage.

yeah the 4 600watters are for better coverage of the caopy i'll be having 6-8 plants per light.. and yes my growing abilities are up to par with the equipment that i am buying.. i've been growing for 3 years now.. i started with cfl's and a year later updated to a 600watt that i grew with for 2 years..
