new hydro setup questions

I am planning on setting up a new system with the ebb & gro 12 bucket system with some additional buckets a I will be using two 1000 watt hps lights for flowering. I am wondering what the best way to to do veg cycle is. I dont want to use the same lights for veg because I want them to be on constant 12 on 12 off schedule so i have a continous harvest going. Can I get away with using flourescents for veg or should I buy two MH lamps.

Try T5 HO fixtures overhead. They come in 2, 4 or 8 bulb and in 24 or 48 inch lengths. They are definitely more intense than cfls and veg as well as anything IMO.

thanx for the input. How many t5 lights and what size u think I will need for about 24 plants. Also with the t5 lights how long should i veg them before I start flowering. I think I am gonna start with a strain that is fairly easy like big bud or NL. What do you think?? I have never done a grow op this large before. I had used the same light for both cycles.

That large you will want 48 inch. Two of those in 4 bulb covers more than 8 sq ft of grow space. How many sq ft do you have? Try ebay. How long you veg depends on how big you want them to get and how big you can handle them. I generally veg for 5 weeks from seed. NL is a great strain and not a large plant.

I would like to have some decent size plants. I have almost 8 foot ceilings so height is really not an issue and as far as space the room im using is much larger than I will need so I think I am planning to tent the grow areas with home made 2x2 frames and panda film or something similar. I think I will enclose (tent) an area for flowering and another for veg and cloning. I would like to have a revolving system where as soon as flowering is done I have another set ready to start flowering and continue this way cloning the better plants/strains as I go along.
