new laptop, want to set up to safely and anonymously browse the web

Hey I'm not sure if this is the best spot but here it goes. Just got a new hp laptop tonight, I want to set up a good security and anti virus program and also want to use TOR and have this as a 'work' computer to safely look up information but not have to deal with all the ads and dumb stuff that goes with it.. any help???

VPN or Tails for tor(not really necessary since tor hides your identity these are just a second layer of security). I think microsoft has good anti virus thats free. Use adblockerplus with your web browser to kill pop ups. Also use a usb drive to store tor and pgp on

Advanced system care is the cats ass. It does antivirus, malware, system cleans, internet booster, game booster, driver updates, you name it, it does it.

If you install it, then uninstall it, it will ask you if you want to try the full version for 3 months.... it does everything. You can buy it for....$15 if you do the right process.....

This recommendation comes based on the fact that I was an MCSA, A+, CCNA certified computer consultant.

Ccleaner, PrivaZer, Malwarebytes, Avast, Superantispyware

never had any of these ^ fuck up my system. I use hidemyass if I want to conceal. Also have TOR for dark.

Tor is not as safe as people think it is (I2P isn't that much further ahead but it's still a little better) between bad config from users, malicious nodes, the fuck ups that come from under funded open sourced projects

Oh.... our cross-border spying relationship goes back at least 30 years.
From what I recall, the CIA couldn't spy on Americans easily, and CSIS couldn't spy on Canadians.
So what they did was spy on each other, then trade info.
Now, it doesn't matter. NSA is spying on everyone, and CSEC is handling Canuckleheads with its version of algorithmic snooping. FFS Google (not the toilet paper) is the biggest spook on the net!

As for enemies, I don't think we really had any until we stuck our noses into Afghanistan (mmm...there was that incident in Rwanda ). But I haven't invented a time machine yet, so there's not much I can do to change that.

I hadn't realised the cross boarder spying happened. Yeah Afghanistan was everyone's mistake but the rest of world can't expect America to do it right ;P, I'm honestly disappointed my countries army hadn't gone over as peace keepers yet but it's probably not at that point yet (my parents always go on about the great hash that was about while the army was in Lebanon). I agree with Leary, thats why I only use chrome for porn, it's more fun when someone is watching. I'll be reading up on the Rwanda thing, all I know is from a Rwandan guy I worked with and his focus was on the local shit and people having to get the hell out.

depends how paranoid you are, when you first open a webpage your computer needs to translate the domain name like www.rollitup.org to an IP address like
104.20.14.98 (the IP address for a cloudflare server roll it up is hosted on). To get that information it queries the DNS server, whoever owns that server will know who there server communicates what information too. In the case of google they know what ads to push at you, and if the server is located in the US it's subject to searches by US government agencies.
Basically who evers DNS server you go to can (and probably will) keep record of the sites, and other servers you requested.
When it comes down to it this is one of the lesser ways of tracking you.

There's 100's of VPN's out there, nothing worth while is free and if what you're doing is illegal in the country the VPN is based in they'll hand over your data under the right request (why would they go to jail for your $10 a month?)

puppy linux on live booting microSD/reader stick/combined wifi dongle. you can install all the usual tor and stuff. even better it can totally encrypt your drive, or not write anything to disc at all as it can run in RAM and when you switch off its cleared. never use the built in network interfaces on computers, use your own wifi dongle and spoof your self a new mac address. only connect to public wifi points. you can get plug in routers or pocket routers now that you could secrete in a starbucks and it will retransmit to your lair in the laundry next door. buy a booster and big fkoff yagi and snipe wifi from miles around. any panic...eat sdcard
