new medical grow

Hey rollitup. I used to be in a really small room with 2 1k watts. I had one really big problem which always destroyed my harvest. The ceiling was only 6ft tall so with lights hanging around 4 3/4 feet above ground, my plants could never get big and yield what they should've.

So what did I do? Build a 12x24 barn and bring plumbing, water, and electricity to it.

For a quick rundown I'm running 6x 1000watt HPS/MH. I've got 3 on right now for veg, and will probably only run 4 for my first flower. It's extremely hot where I'm at this past month, and I'm only running 1100ish cfm of fans to cool the building. My temperatures haven't past 84 degrees, which is much better than I expected. I am NOT running C02 for the time being. It's on my list of things to get once I get a grow or two dialed in and once I get A/C installed, seeming I'll need it if I'm going to run all 6 1000s.

I'm looking for help to achieve #2 per light. Should I do 16 plants per 1000watt and try to get 2oz from each? Or should I do a SOG with 60+ clones under each and attempt to pull a half ounce from each? Also some of the clones I cut have their leaves curling and I'm not sure what the problem is. I rooted them in rockwool and transplanted them to peat moss once the roots were strong. Help with any of this info is very useful.

I've also got one plant that is massive, taking up almost the entire 1000watt light blueprint. I'm curious if this plant will yield over a lb, as i've never had such a crop indoor. I'll continue to update pictures as time goes on and answer any questions that I'm knowledgeable on

Pics of these were before defoliating some of the leaves on the bottom that light obviously cannot get to. I'll try to get some better shots later tonight. Lights were turning off right as I took these :(

Looking for 2 per without a perfect environment? Prepare to be let down. You have no co2 and no ac, if you get anywhere close to 2 per it will be boof. So prepare for that, or find a way to make a perfectly controlled environment . Equipment you need.. 3 ton minisplit to do 6 lights... an environmental controller.. a badass dehumidifier.. and a co2 setup. Good luck.

I do have a dehumidifier and A/C but not in use for the time being. The reason I'm not able to go all out this first few runs with c02 is because I'm stuck on 30amps. I can wire another 30 amps in relatively soon. Another reason why I'm going to only start with 4000 watts to start. I wired the building for 240v which helped a lot. Does AC affect yield even if I'll already got temp and humidity under control? My fans are on adjusters and I can cool the room with them anywhere from 77 degrees up to 88 degrees. If I were to use everything but c02 I'd be pushing my 30amp limit. What do you think a good number to aim for per watt/light would be?
Thanks for your input :)

Sea of green is the way to go. I used to run 28-36 plants in a 4x4 area under 1000 watts in 4" rockwool. I'd flower when they were about 14 -18". The reason my plant count would vary was if a clone wasn't looking really good or tall enough I'd chunk it. But it also depends of plant structure. My Sk#1 grew pretty nice spears/donkey dicks, but my Blueberry cut had lots of side branching. SOG also speeds things up by cutting out lots of veg time. Seems like lots of folks like running fewer but larger plants these days. I can see that with plant count restrictions but it uses way too much extra time for veg and in the end I think you end up losing weight.
If your temps aren't past 85 I'd say you could use bottled Co2 and not increase the heat too much. A Co2 burner will heat things up quite a bit but once you get plenty of AC kicking it's no biggie. One thing you have to remember though is with Co2 is a little extra heat is actually good for the plants. I regularly went to 95 and above during the summer and it was no problem. The only time I could really tell it was having negative effects was if temps started getting over about 102-103. Variety is a big deal as far as temps go. Lots of varieties can't take the heat. My skunk #1 cut could take 100 no problem but would lose terps, and I think higher temps cause terp loss in all varieties. My Neville's haze x blueberry could handle a bit of extra heat but wanted to stretch and get fox tails. Straight Blueberry liked it very chilly if possible. It would grow but would lose tons of terps and end up being more grassy than BB flavored in high temps. It totally couldn't take the heat. I also think it effects the buzz of the final product. The Sk#1 seemed to have a trippier buzz when run in higher temps.
You have the makings of a great set up. Give it half a dozen crops to get it dialed in for your variety once you have your Ac set up and it could pump out some connoisseur grade herb.

Thanks for the info voodoo. Set up a scrog table to test out with around 90 clones under one of the 1000watts. Will throw some out or give to friends depending on how some of them turn out. Here are some updated pictures. Today is week 1 of flower.

As you can probably tell my photography skills are mediocre at best.. Will follow up soon with more pictures!! My outdoor sunset sherbert turned out to smell amazing. Full of crystals, I'll try and throw some of the bud pics up here aswell!
