New Plant Comments

Hello Im new to the site seems good so far. I just started my new plant its a closet grow and was just looking for some comments on how you think my plant is doing so far and my set up. I have 4 24" Florescent grow bulbs on the sides with a 150 watt hps above. The plant is about 5 weeks old and growing in a GH water farm bucket with Flora series nuitrients. Im just following the grow schedule on the GH site for the nuitrient doses. I started it with just some bag seeds i found and it seems to be doing well but mainly grows out as its only 4" tall. Just looking for comments check out the pics. Thanks All!!

I don't know if you just raised it for the pics, but you gotta drop that light way down. I keep mine ca 1 foot away. With better cooling you should be able to keep it ca 6-8 inches away. If your hand feels comfortable underneath it your plants will too. i don't think the tubes are lighting it as good as they could since they are so far away from the plant. At this stage you'd be better off with CFL lights that you can set up much closer easily. Depending on how big you are planning on letting it get, the tubes might work out better later on.

The plant looks short but healthy to me, are you sure it's already 5 weeks old? Maybe it could use some fattening up too, but that might just be because it's bag seed. You got a pretty nice little set up and it looks like you are doing a good job. I would recommend droppping a few bucks on some quality seeds. That way you can be sure you get back something good in return for all your hard work. As of right now you don't even know the sex yet. Some would think that it's a good thing that it's so short. That means you can veg it longer and let it grow a nice fat trunk which will support bigger buds in the long run. Personally I prefer shorter plants, just not 5 week old 4" plants.. that's just whacked.
