new question about lighting

hi im new i bought a xtrasun convertible ballast im runnin 400 watt but i just wanna know if all 400 ballasts match all 400 bulbs i dont wanna burn out my ballest using the wrong bulb the mh bulb is ansi s53 and the hps is ansi s51 i just wanna make sure that i have the right bulb thanks in advance

I'm about 99% certain you're just fine.
Not all bulbs are completely compatible with your system, but most are. I'm referring to bulbs designed specifically for digital ballasts though, and it's pretty easy to figure out which is which.
