Hello guys and gals just looking to get some ideas for new equipment for when I move up to maine in 3 months to 1 year going up again this weekend to check some places for sale in southern maine one has a barn on 5 acres soo cool 😄
i am thinking of sticking with my dwc in 5 gallon buckets. i plan on only flowering 4-5 at a time under each 1 k and scrog them out as i will veg for 2-5 months or until 4ft +for bigger plants but less harvests a year but am wondering how much wattage I need I'm thinking 4 1k lights for flower and 2 k for veg/mothers
I would first do this setup for my initial 5 patients plus myself then next year will be serving 10 with wife and expand basically double it i plan on eventually getting solar city to power the whole thing and moving it from a 40by40 ft flower room in the house to an insulated heated cooled and humidified barn this will be a looong process but wanted to start a thread on it and get some ideas is 4000 watts enough for say 20-30 plants around 6-8ft when finished

Probably not enough light. 1000 watt lights cover a 4 by 4 foot area. I have 7.5 foot plants that are over 4 ft across. you will either need more lights or smaller plants. just my opinion

since you will be in a med state and legal, I'd start indoors then go to a greenhouse for early season then after last frost go full on outdoor. just a thought

Yeah that's the long term goal slowandsteady checking out farm tech they have some great greenhouses just like the idea of a barn in case of robbers/thieves in nj thieves are a common thing along with alot of other criminals maybe in maine people actually have more morals and integrity lol i know one thing is for certain the people are alot nicer in maine! Actually anywhere but nj/ny people are more friendly haha
but it's still easy to slice open a green house and take plants😔but I love that idea best just have the risk of someone stealing your patients plants in a visible greenhouse

dogs and motion sensors hooked to lights help but the best way to stop that is not let anyone know what you grow or where. but in Maine ya can't get there from here.

Windham, Gray, Yarmouth, Cumberland, brunswick, Gorham , Scarborough... Limerick isn't really anything great, kinda shitty and not much near it but maybe thats what you want. there is lots of nice lots/land in windham, gray, scarborough, gorham... and lots in cumberland, yarmouth and brunswick. the property taxes are high in those 3 though.. not to sure about the others. I guess if you don't mind being far away from everything then really anywhere will serve your purpose. I enjoy being 20-25 mintues away from portland while enjoying peacefull living in a town, but being able to go there when i need to and not make a day trip out of it and spend 50 bucks in gas.

Ahh just arrived nice drive listened to some great tunes now time for bed lol
What did you think of the clam festival?
A town I live near, Damariscotta, used to do an Oyster festival; similar to clam festival. They stopped doing it after businesses members in the town complained the festival messed up parking and slowed their businesses. No more Oyster Festival.

I didn't end up going to the clam festival went to portland on Sunday instead shopping and good food.
And drove pretty much to every town from portland to kittery looking at different places doing the same today

lol the Yarmouth Clam Festival is kind of a ho hum affair. I remember one year I was in the mood for what I expected would be the best clam chowdah on the planet. What a disappointment lol the only chowdah in the place was some church's stand and I think it must have been made with 2% milk.

Try checking out the Lyman, Arundel, Dayton, Kennebunk, Alfred area if you are looking for more of a rural atmosphere, but don't want to be too far away from services.
