A year after buying 20x Cree 3590 COBs, Timber continues to impress! I was recently in the market for a new light for my 3x3, so I looked to @RainDan and Timber once again, this time buying one of their Framework lights.
This line has recently been revamped to utilize the 80/20 aluminum that @Growmau5 uses in some of his DIY lights. The build quality with this new frame material is fantastic!
I especially like the triangular corner connectors and the heatsink mounting brackets - it's very well thought out. These lights ship with Ledil 90° reflectors, but I'm not using them at the moment.
Timber's revamp of their Framework line is a huge improvement over their previous fixtures that used angle aluminum held together with screws. Here's an idea of what their old fixtures looked like compared to the new Framework:
In case you're not familiar with the Timber Framework lights, they ship bench-tested and fully assembled, 100% plug and play. Their packaging is on point, too. As you can see, the box mine came in was damaged in shipping (thanks for the 4" hole in the corner, UPS ), but the fixture made it through without any issues.
Here's a link to Timber's website showing the 400w Vero29 v7 Square Framework. (Old style pictures are to be updated soon, I've heard.) If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them. Prices are really competitive with other solutions on the market, too!
Full disclosure: I did not get any monetary or equipment sponsorship from Timber to post this, nor am I affiliated with them in any other way than being a very satisfied, repeat customer.
