New to Coos Bay, OR need a grower for my application, any recomendations?

Good Evening my friends.

I am new to the Coos Bay, OR area, and am from NC where I find my medication through friends/family connections. Getting my paperwork done for my OMMC and need a grower for the address. Would any growers by chance be looking for new patients within an hour or two? Or should I just put down my own address and network to find growers after I send in my application and doctors recommendation. Any input would be helpful, I am used to high quality strands and am a huge fan of diesel or jack herer buds!!!!

There is no way possible you could grow your own? Not a closet or basement or corner of the back yard, its always better to do it yourself if at all possible. And its not as hard as you may think. Aside from that I do believe there is one or two people from your area on here, just got to wait for them to check in.

Thanks for your response. I have definitely thought about growing my own and would love to start, however even if I did, I would not be able to harvest my plants for several weeks, leaving me not high and dry.... Finding a grower for the time being would be very convenient, I know there are co-ops around the area, which could lead me to a possible grower/supplier. I just thought I would start here and see if I can find any growers/suppliers looking for new patients in the surrounding areas.

sorry to jack your thread but... how is it there? I have job opportunities there but am unsure of it bc it appears small and isolated?

Its all good man, and Coos County is actually a big area, just not a lot of diversity or young people. While there is a community college, hospital, and casino where many of the younger folks work. I honestly like the small town feel of Coos Bay. While there is not a party/city scene there is still plenty of outdoor adventures that I think are more fun and meaningful. It really depends on what type of person you are; if you like shellfishing, hunting, hiking, kayaking, surfing, camping or anything outdoors it is a great place to be. The weather is moderate and in the summer is perfect, right now its about 70 degrees and sunny, I hear its not so nice in the other seasons but it really does not get too cold either, just plenty of rain. Having a girlfriend already in the area definitely has helped the transition. Let me know if you want any more information on the area.

I got 3 kids under the age of 7, so I'm also interested in if the schools are nice and does it seem family friendly? Don't know if you pay attention to any of that type if stuff. we've been in Portland for a year so the rain does not bother us. Totally enjoy the mild temperatures! Thanks for your input!

It's cheaper and safer right now if you put yourself as the grower, whether you are growing now or not. If you designate someone else as your grower, OMMP will charge you $50. Being new to the area, and rushing to find a grower you can run the risk of getting set up with a grower who is less than honest, or a collective that's shady. (I've seen a few of both lately, which really sucks) Later, if you do find a grower, the OMMP will charge you to change your information (growsite address changes, or grower changes).

In the meantime, take the steps to get your card, and your OMMP "safety packet" (the paperwork proving you've mailed/submitted your application). That safety packet is your savior. You can get meds delivered to your door from a mobile dispensary (same prices as street) even with the temporary safety packet. And if you're hanging around trying to buy weed from cool strangers at the bar's back patio, that safety packet/temporary OMMP card can be the deal maker. Best of luck, and hope you enjoy Oregon.

Everyone warned you about the rain in Oregon, but they probably omitted that it gets really effin cold too, and even snows at the beach a coupla times each winter??? No one told me about this cold stuff before I moved here! Total shocker. But snow on the beach is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I am possibly leaving Colorado to move to Brookings or Gold Beach. Coos Bay is a small possibility too. I will be in Brookings for a week over Chrismas/New Years. Bringing my own from my garden here to hold me over! If I do end up moving next April-July I will def grow my own, been doing it for 17 years!

Hi I'm also new to coos bay I'm in the same predicament you were last year was wondering. If u could help me out just moved from Arizona have a small. Grow but won't. Be finished for another 2 months or so and today is 420 ive been dry for 2 months really need a hook up
