New to HPS need help

Hello, i was about to try my first HPS/ Metal H setup and had a few questions.
1. Is there a chart or something for how far away the fixture should be from the top of the plants.
2. How many auto flowering plants can a 400W handle, i was planning on 5.
3. Is it necessary to have heating pads under the plants to make the roots grow downwards, im trying to do this right this time.
4. What kind of venting is needed for the below grow tent, what can i get by on for just doing 5 at a time, do i need an inline fan?

I plan on growing 5x fem white russian autoflowering from lowlife, any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be using a 32”x32”x63” for them.

Please Help Thanks

1.
400w HPS: 1 foot
600w HPS: 1.5 foot
1000w HPS: 2 foot
You might be good with 6 inches just put your hand under the lights and make sure it's room temperature.\

2.
Yeh 5 is good.
3.
If you want the roots to grow downwards then water from the bottom to keep the top of the soil dry.
I don't think heating pads helps roots grow downwards, but i'm not completely sure.

Good setup not sure about your forth question though.

1. Sounds good, heres a chart i ran across, hope this helps too. attachmentphp.jpg

2. 400W = 2X2, 1sqft per plant, looks like u can go with 4-5 at the MOST

3. I do not use them. But it "COULD" speed up the process, let someone else key in there.

4. 250+ CFM, are you going to use an air cooled hood??

I wasnt sure what to use i never vented with the flourescents more than just window exaust fans, now im doing it in a basement with tent and its hps i wasnt sure if i needed to use a dryer duct line to push air out or if i would be alright without...

As long as you have good venting you really dont need ducting. But it will help a bunch especially if you have a cooltube/a/c reflector.

I have my 1000 watt 3.5 feet above my grow. Theres nine plants in a 6 by 3 foot scrog so I need it high for light dispersion...Does this mean my plants are not getting alot of lumens? Should I move it closer and put it vertical in the middle of the scrog?

the tent i got has several round tubes open at the end and coming in the tent, i assume im supposed to but fans in them i was wondering what kind was best and how many i need for a 400w setup, also is metal h same distance as hps from lights?

Find out the size of the holes.4inch or 6 inch.Just a couple of fans should be enough.

They apparently are compatible with 3 or 6in should i just use regular desk fans with maybe 2 blowing in and 2 blowing out? If so should i have the ones blowing in on the bottom or top and likewise for the ones blowing out?

Dryer duct lines really slow down flow. It's kinda stiff but pvc tubing works so much better! You probably could just stick em together with sugar syrup if you wantedh to be able to take em down again but it's a lot less efficient flow and especially if you hang a filter on the ventalation system you don't wanna be cutting down efficiency!
