Look at the online hydro stores, they have all in one kits. You can decide how to build your but it will give you an idea on what is needed. Noone can answer because it all depends on what you are trying to do.

Smart pot #1 (hydrostore or where u can find em) $3.50 - LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE

Water misters:
A couple of cheap misting spray bottles

Main things..
1) what type of lighting - hid, cfl, led. Each has pros and cons
2) airflow - you need fresh air going in. You likely need to exhaust out air/heat.
3) odor control - normally tied to exhaust fan
4) fan for inside closet to move air
5) ph reader and up/down for water/nute mix
6) i recommend a neutral soil mix with few added nutes. That way you are in control. I mix cheap potting soil, peat moss, perlite and vermiculite with 2T/gal of dolomite lime
7) nutes - I am really happy with dyna-gro.

Those are what I would call the basics. I also filter my water with a PUR filter that fits onto kitchen faucet and let water sit out a while.

Good luck!

Just google it. Lots of options. i use a hannah pen.

For cfl, crucial that you are able to raise, lower, move around lights to keep them super close to canopy. It is a pain the first few weeks of flower as they stretch but can be done. I just switched from cfl to led but last grow with four plants yielded 5.5 oz oz of well manicured joy. Not great yield but enough for me :-)

Also, read up on lst, you will want to train to get lots of tops. Each top, for me anyway, buds well for about four inches and then the poor penetration diminishes. So the more tops the better.

thanks so much on the info. i went out and was able to get everything, and for less than $50. nearing the end of gardening season round' here and almost every thing was half off! now i can spend that extra money on different seed strains. where you order you're seeds from if you don't mind me asking
