New to LED lighting, any experts willing to help?

The little experience I have with growing indoors was assisting with an hps grow. Now I want to start my own and want to try out the LED route. The main questions I have are
1. Is there a certain brand lights you'd recommend? I was thinking about just getting one off ebay to save a few bucks, but now I've been reading that a lot that stuff is junk.
2. How many and what wattage of a light should I have for a small grow (4-6) plants. Assuming that I want to yield 3 or more ounces per plant.
3. Say I were to use a 300watt panel, what could I get out of that assuming I do a decent job at all other aspects of growing? From how many to how many plants should I have under it?
4. what does it mean when a led light differs from 1w, 2w or 3w?
5. What other important aspects about the light should I keep an eye out for when deciding which one to buy?
6. When my friend was growing with hps, misting his plants once a week turned out well for him, is it the same with LED?
7. Should I use a weaker light during the seedlings period then switch to a strong one during the vegetation period?

I'm just starting LEDs too. I have done a lot of reading on them and own a 90w ufo and some E27 8w LED bulbs.
Let me see if i can help you out here.
1. I bought mine off ebay.com For a$150. It's not junk. Its really bright and smooth running. You get what you pay for.
2.If you want 3 ounces a plant for 4-6 plants. Id get a 400w-600w. $500 easily
3. I bet a 300w LED light could do 3 plants in 8 gallon pots.
4. A lot of Cheap LEDs have 1w bulbs. 1w and 2w bulbs are pretty small. 3w are pretty big and noticeably brighter. 3w LED lights are expensive.
5. Look for reviews on them and see what color bulbs it comes. Like orange or Infrared or Ultra violet UV. Cree and bridge are good bulbs.
6.Misting never hurts IMO
7.From what i read you can use a LED light from seed to harvest.

Hey, thank you, that was really helpful. Yeah, I did hear the UFOs are good, I've been looking at blackstar too, a lot of people seem to like them.
