New to organics, need help building soil plan for a grow cycle

So base mix is Pumice, Peat Moss, worm castings, and lime &rock dust added in.

Can i grow seedlings up to a month old with this base mix alone? Someone on the forums uses this mix but adds jiffy mix seed starting organic soil to it. Is that essential?

then when there about a month old ill transplant into the adult/flowering mix (base mix with added amendments, such as kelp meal and vegetable fertilizer (mix of blood meal, bat guano, and everything else in one package)) and they will carry out the rest of their lives in this soil mix. i can always add AACT's and such if there are slight nutrient deficiencies.

Both seedling mix and flowering mix will have sufficient time to cook.

Yea they shoild do fine in that mix, I would add some worm castings to the seedling mix, if you already have them in it your can top dress the soil with it.

Your "base mix" looks good for seedlings, but depending on the pot size and the quality of your worm castings, it may run low on nutrients before one month is up. Personally, I would add some kelp meal to your "base mix", say 1 TBSP/gal. This will not cause any burning, but will give your seedlings a little boost. Once they start looking hungry, they should be plenty ready to transplant to a big pot of stronger soil (even if it hasn't been a full month).

If they start looking hungry before you are ready to transplant, just top dress them with an inch or so of your stronger soil and water it in thoroughly. That should keep them happy for an extra week or so.

Is there any difference between oyster shell and lime? Do i add the same amount of oyster shell as i would with lime? Would it be best in powdered form?

i have lime on hand, but i can look for some oyster shell if it's better. My lime is like, small pellets. Should i grind them up into a fine powder before i use it?

the lime you have in pellet form is like that so it is like a time release pill, if you grind the pellets it will hit your plants all at once and burn them. if you do grind start with 1/4 of the amount and adjust from there.
