Hi All,

First time posting on here, although i have trawled these forums for tips on growing lol.

I found some WW seeds i bought for a laugh off a market stall and figured i'd try growing them lol. They were hanging around in a packet for 3+ years so i didnt really have any hope of them growing, however all 5 germinated, and somehow i've managed to keep em alive :P.

I figured after keeping them on my window shelf for a few weeks, i was gonna obviously need a better set up if i was gonna do it right.

Bit by bit i have bought wat i thought to be some good equipment for wat i needed incl :

Converted lamp reflector to take HPS/ Fluro

1x large blue environlight
1x 600w HPS with ballast
1x XL bud box
1x Vents TT 125 fan
1x Ruck 150 and insultated ducting ( awaiting delivery)

these plants are around 7 weeks old and tbh im amazed ive got em this far. ive put em in wat i think are 12ltr + pots with biobizz all mix and have put them in the tent, i am using low strength bio bizz Grow and algamic ( 2 mls of each per litre) and im just wondering if you guys think this is the right amount for their age ( they just over a foot tall now) i bought a pH tester and am trying to aim between 6-7 and lol im using lemon juice to lower the ph as my tap water sits around 8.0.

Im concerned however that one plant despite being fed the same looks poor in comparison ( as it always has done) it looks less bushy than the rest , the leaves are thinner and less serrated at the edge and has no more than 5 blades to a leaf, it always has looked crap in comparrison compared to the rest however it is more so now as the leafs are starting to roll and claw downwards a bit ( wats up with this plant , its from the same batch of seed!)

anyway less of this epic im writing lol! ( im a woman , i get carried away! ) :P here are some pics, so hopefully some of you nice guys ( and gals ) can tell me where im going wrong or tell me what you think so far? pics 2 and 4 are the plant that aeems to be alot different from the others!

Thanks in advance ...:-o

They are looking real good. Keep up the good work. The only thing I can see that you could improve on is maybe get those light closer. For fluoros they need to be like 2 inches from the tops (put your hand under the lights for 1 minute at canopy level and see if it gets hot). Best of luck and welcome to RIU my friend.

Hey,

Thanks for replying, ye i know wat ya mean with the light distance they were closer but i raised it slightly because i have only one bulb and i thought with having 5 plants only the ones in the middle were getting coverage so highered it a bit to shine light more evenly. its about 10 inches away atm. However im gonna swap to HPS with a little bit of luck in the next week, when the fan and ducting arrives what ya think ( they mature enough?), hopefully the lighting prob wont be so much of an issue then.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum! Your plants look lush. Really nice. Biobizz is a good choice. At 7 weeks i feed 2ml bio heaven, this is all per litre btw, 4ml bio grow, 3ml bio bloom, 3ml topmaxand 3ml alg-a-mic. I also give them a weekly foliar spray with alg-a-mic at 2ml per litre. I thought when i first looked at the biobizz feeding schedule i thought it would be to much for my girls, but they love it!

They are definitely ready to flower. White widow tends to get really tall so make sure you have enough head room. The plants could triple in size! Get that HPS on them ASAP. You will need a lot more than one bulb next time around. You want your plants to be bushy as opposed to lanky and stretched. Keeping the light as close as possible without burning the tops will prevent stretching.

Hey Geo, and Doc

thanks for ur kind words of encouragement, cool, ill whack em under 12/12 asap then. Hurry up and arrive u blooody fan!!!! LOL.

Anyone got any thoughts to why that one plant looks so different, hopefully cos its a male and its the only male? hahhahah i know wishful thinking xxx

Thanks guys nice to see your comments xxxx

P.s hopefully the tent will be big enuff 1.5m x1.5m x 2.0 m head room

Jees im hoping all these plants arent bloody male after all this!!! :o lol

No problem. Could be male! Could just be a different phenotype of the strain. You do get alot of variation because of this. Just keep an eye for signs of sex and remove any male you may or may not have. The way to stop this variation is to grow from clones from a single mother plant, all clones will show the same traits as the mother.

I have 9, all of them white widow. 7 are female, 2 still haven't shown sex yet. 3 of them look like a totally different strain. When you grow from seed you get a lot of variation because some plants inherit different traits. That's my ultra simple lesson in genetics.

now before i switch em, do i introduce flowering nutes before hand and wat techniques do you guys use when u flip them, i've seen peeps suggest leaving em in dark for 36 hrs + before putting them on 12/12 does this have any advantage? Or do i just simply swap lighting from one day to the next and then prolong the dark cycle that simply?

With foliar feeding would you carry on spraying up until they start to bud or leave it out completely from switching point?

Sorry for the noobness

Many thanks

Introduce flowering nutes at first sign of flowering. Just switch them to 12/12. Stop foliar feeding and misting altogether when they start to flower.

any thoughts to what to do with that 'problem' plants leave 'rolling' as im giving it the same nutes as the rest and they have no problem, u reckon its just the genetic problem (why it looks different too ) as noted on above posts? not all the leaves are affected so just carry on with the schedule and up the nutes?

Thankies xxx
