hey new here. tryin to take it all in. this place is unreal. questions are-

what is the fastest auto seed to flower strain that you recommend? factoring out human and environment.

or should a guy grow a reg seed and burn the trimmings on the way to harvest?

so far i came across these
blue amnesia/6-7wks
Cinderella 99/7wks
Northern Lights/ 8wks
green crack/ 8wks
blue cheese/ 7-8wks

my grow plan id figure out as i go accumulating stuff as i go. mostly diy out of repurposed stuff. want led. start with cfls soil basic stuff. would be nice if it didnt smell much or at all. interested more in sat dom like c99 or g.c. mid height. whats your favorite and why?

Keep reading, keep reading and read some more...... Your not going to burn anything on the way to harvest and have it be any good. It will smell no matter what you do. Without a grow plan in place before you start, your almost sure to fail.

i read that veg leaves and shoots are potent? in a grow bible. not true? maybe use some thing like this for the first 2-3 weeks.
till i can diy a decent one.

Fan leaves not so much. The leaves that form with the flowers, yes. Once they are covered in trics and the trics mature. So your at harvest time anyway. There is no smoke as you go. The start is critical for autos. Their lives are shorter. So getting them off to a good start will get a better yield at the end. Sure you can start under cfl. But if your going to have a better light rig in 2-3 weeks, I would just wait and start them under better light.

.forget about smoking the trim while you wait, forget about speedy flowering, strange schedules, and tricks. forget about autoflowering...at least until you have successful normal harvest firsts.
read a grow bible. follow directions. skip the cfl if possible, go right to one 600 watt hid with a cheap wing/socket. a five gallon pail, promix filled, a 2xhandfull of organicare nutrients, again at day 30 of flowering. water when the bucket kicks dry/lightweight. drill a drain hole, stick a pie pan under it. water first time two gallons of water into dry dirt/until water drains. empty pan. control temps, humidity and co2/air quality. use a stink sock to control odors. dont tell anyone what you're doing for best results.

when ready to flower switch 24hour lights on to only 12 lights on, do this for around 70 days. harvest, dry according to any grow bible instructions.

no such thing as winging it huh. nothing wrong with that if i do fail. ill figure it out. my plan starts when im actually have seeds in my hand and everything is set up.

i want to upgrade lights but if dont i dont. i might Red Green some Christmas lights in it. i dont care. sure i want to do it right. but also just want to do it period. i will plan as go.

thank you for your lenghty post. i think everyone is underestimating how much studying ive already done. im not gonna put that big hot light where i intend start. im starting with what i have now without buying anything. ive practiced germinating hemp seeds. sounds stupid but hey got little seedling after 4-5days. praticed scratchin the shell with a blade after readin an article online for fast startin seeds. no success so stick to basics right. i get it ill try. i dont know brand from brand or this or that on equipment. if i had 250 bucks id buy the 1000watt led diy kit i seen online. or if i had the money id buy stuff out of the lit i brought home from cannagrow. someday hydro. soil is easy. premixed now compost when i figure that out. ph strips, lumin meter. i think i can get away with 2-3gal for my space and strain i picked. little milk cayenne pepper. if that dont work i call on find natural enemies. someday eveything will be airtight but il do the best i can starting out.

but everyone ignored my question and instead decided to criticize all the variables first. aint doing shit without a seed. but nevermind i found what i was lookin or answered my own question. thanks for your replies.

I'm doing a green crack auto ( stated 70 days , I'm on 50 and think it's going to go about 80-85 .
It's doing brill under a single 300w CFL
That's hit about 65cm in height with a little lst and doesn't really stink unless your rubbing her .
Seems pretty beginner friendly as well, I haven't hurt her yet with high temps or any sign of nute burn after upping feeds

c99 in a closet and amesia haze out doors. one quick one big. sounds like ur gc would fit in a hollowed out fridge or closet.

I have it in a cupboard lol ordered myself a little collection of seeds and gonna grow them out 1 at a time , all autos stated between 8-10 weeks .

thats badass. thats what im talking about. how many kelvin is ur bulb rated? i was also lookin at full spec led grow spotlamps. come with built in heat sinks. 4 or 6. maybe 100watts total.

No idea about kelvins lol I have 2 China LED bulbs up as well now at 80w ea , in red,blue,white,uv,ir .. only have the LED's on for 9 of the 18/6 . The rest is the single CFL and was only the CFL up until about day 40 ..

Cabinet grow with cheap CFL and LED's can do just fine if your only after a bit of personal

Breeder times are rarely accurate.
I wouldn't go with the fastest autos as they tend to be small. The tap root determines when an auto will flower. The bigger the pot, the bigger the plant will get. The right nutrients can extend veg time on autos. Too many variables to count on breeder times.

It doesn't really matter which you start with. Keep It Super Simple. KISS. Less is more. Every time I get away from that I screw up.

Auto flowers are not bad either like some claim. Just do research and stick with good auto breeders like Mephisto and Dinafem.

These are autos, the ones on the righ got close to 3 ft and was done just shy of 90 days. The outer ones are mephisto and the middle is a dinafem amnesia xxl.


The blue amnesia looks and grows similar to the amnesia.

Those pots are 15 inches wide and hold 5 gallons for size reference. I grow in a 2x4x6 oak cabinet.

my data wont DL all your pics. i have a 300w 5k bulb. its hid but idk what kind mh? but no socket or shield. its bigger than a household bulb. may home make something for it if the temps arent bad sealed up. i didnt want to make air venting to complicated. on kelvins i read you want to match with natural sunlight. im going to test the lights with a lumen meter to set height and experiment with cfl led or hid combos. just cuz i cant leave things alone lol. i did research fimming autos and understand leaving it alone and letting it do what its supposed to do. i want to try scrog but we will see how things grow.
