What's up RIU, so I always hear the hairs will turn red and recede back in, so my question is does this apply to all mj? As far as hairs being red or reddish in color.. Is that pretty standard?? Just curious I haven't made it to first harvest yet..

when maturation is reached calyxes (seed pods) swell to nearly the point of engulfing the entire pistil (hair) in an act to receive any available pollen... Color is mostly strain dependant

remember the pistil color is not ur true indicator of maturity. U want to check the trichs. That when u will know for sure if ur plant is ready to harvest...... depending on the type high u are looking for

Just out of curiosity - can't heat make the 'hairs' turn darker earlier? Is tht why people say the color of 'pistols' isn't a good indicator of maturity?

Heat or drought. Stop watering and see what happens.
