Newb question about lamp

I feel stupid as hell saying this. But I have a desktop lamp that has a 40watt bulb in it. It says (on the lamp) the max is 60watt. I hear everybody talking about 400watt and 600 watt and I feel stupid as hell with my little desktop lamp lol. Are those 400watt lamps and bulbs expensive?

Oh and I have my plant next to a window where it gets sunlight, does that help?
So far it's been a week and the plants are growing, i just started using the lamp.

I need answers please.

I'm not sure your plant is receiving enough light, your plants are 5" right and they havent shed the shell yet?

Has the shell started opening off yet, it may well be stuck

more than power it is the type of light the plant gets, you could have 400 watts of incandescent lighting and its not going to give you much of anything, a decent hps or mh setup can be had for just 1 or 2 hundred, even less for some of them, look for the thread on here about the $20 light, if your short on cash thats the way to go
