Newb Question

Ok so Ive done ALLL the research i think my brain can handle. Ive got a pretty nice size grow closet setup. Mylar'd all the walls and celing, got my rockwool and plugs got my drip pan, got my fertz. got my ph and ppm meters. got my lights.

Question i have:

As soon as my seeds are germinated and in my grow plugs, how much light should i expose them to? the whole shabang or half or what? I have a 50k lumen light. How much light and how close to the grow plugs should i keep it? I am germinating and growing 5 seeds to plants. Also should i use any fertilizers in the begining? or just water for the first week or 2? Once i get them going ive got it pretty much covered on how much fertz to use and how much to water, i just dont know how much when i start... also 18/6 to start or 24/0??

I don't use nutes right away bc my soil is fox farm organic ocean forest I don't start using nutes till maybe 3 to 4 weeks into the grow but introduce nutes slow! Also I usually start light on the watering situation start with 100-200 ml of water every other day. Just maybe mist the leaves a little bit to keep bugs off if bugs are a prob. I use in my veg room 24/0 light cylce but you can pick what you want doesn't matter

the distance of the lights depends on what kind of lighting your using to close youll burn them to far youll stretch them..

Good advice!!!!

What lights? if a HPS or MH, then use the back of your hand as a guide (not gospel) If the back of your hand is comfy facing the light at the top of the plant then all is ok. Now thats for HPS/MH lights. CFLs or Floro is about 2 inches above the tops of the plants.

I'm running 24/0 over the 18/6. But thats a personal pref. I think 24/0 is better, but also thing a rest period is good. I am only using 150W HPS, so there isn't a massive amount of light, so thats why I use a the 24/0 over the 18/6 scheme.

Yes, I'm a newbie, but if you look at my journal, its not doing bad in the least.
