New to the forum and VERY new to growing. Ive been lurking for a while and you guys have definitely got the most informative forum out there, so congrats on that
I have a couple of questions and did my best to incorporate what Im using and pics along with what Im asking. Thanks for any help/advice
I ordered some seeds online and germinated them.. Planted them in plastic cups using Miracle-Gro potting soil for my media on 9-22. Here they are on 9-26:
Growth as of 10-1 (nickel for size reference)
Growth as of 10-4:
10-7
10-9
For lighting I started out using a 36 Coralife T-5 double linear strip fixture with a 6700k plant lamp and a full spectrum florescent (black hood in pic), both running at 21 watts. Just yesterday I added a 48 Dual florescent fixture housing (2) 40 watt 6700ks. I hung that over the plants and used the Coralife to light from the side.
When I woke up this morning the plants were all drooping, looked like this around 7am:
They are now looking better, but what did I do wrong with the lighting? Obviously adding the 4 ft. 6700ks caused this, but what do I do to fix it? I had the fixture about 4 above the plants.
Also, It doesnt seem like Im getting good drainage, I add approx a ½ cup of water every 3rd day or so and Ive never seen anything come out of the drainage holes in the pots. Am I doing something wrong there? Like I said, I am using Miracle-Gro potting mix, nothing added to it. Here are the pots and the trays, the bottom of the pot goes right down to the tray, doesnt seem like there is much room there, but those are the trays that came with them.
