Newbie Ebb & Flow Question

Hi guys. I am just getting ready to start my first grow ever. I decided on ebb & flow hydroponics. I have already built my tray and reservoir using some high quality reinforced plastic tubs. I've already tested them for strength and they seem to be holding up under the weight fine. The tray has dimensions 13" 27" and it's plenty tall so I'll cut it down. For lights I built a custom DIY CFL hood. has 12 23 watt 6500k CFL bulbs putting out just under 20,000 lumens 276 watts total. It footprints just a little outside the tray.

Anyways I planed on using this setup just for veg growth. I will be building a second cabinet with a 600w HPS system with a 2x4 grow tray ebb & flow aswell.

Anyways I plan to start with rooted clones in rockwool cubes. Mesh pots with hydroton media.

What size pots will I need for these clones? Can I veg 6 clones well with this sytem?

Also is it common practice to transplant to larger mesh pots during the growth and transition to flowering stage? OIr do most growers just keep the plants in the same size pot and media throughout the whole grow.
