newbie HELP with nutrients

Hi all im a complete newbie and am following https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/blog786-lowryder-2-grow-journal-canna.html which is top notch , my problem is with nutrients this is proberly a very silly question to many of you but do i use them every time i water? or one time with them and next time with out and so on? like one on one off. I have searched on the net but just going round and round.

People have their preferred methods and I have used both. The truth is you can play around with your nutrient schedule and increase and decrease based on how your plant looks but just make sure you don't give them too much or else they'll burn. I grow in Soil and use Flora Nova Grow and Flora Nova Bloom, and right on their website they have a feeding schedule that seems to work pretty good for me. The first time I grew I used nutes all through veg and flowering up until the last 2 weeks of flowering I flushed with clean water. The last couple times I've been feeding nutes every other watering, but I haven't noticed too much of a difference either way.

That's just me, but you'll find that trial and error and personal experience is the best way to learn..

Just make sure you give your plants more Nitrogen during Veg, and more Phosphorous during Flower. And the all important flush the last 2 weeks of flowering to ensure a smooth smoke.

directions say every other watering...ive read people fert everytime..depends on how ur plants respond..u cud burn them doing it everytime..my plants like the heavy feeding..so it works for me...but always adjust to plants response!

depends what medium your growing in and everybody has different feeding schedules. i grow in hydro and can replace nutes daily according to ppm. soil growers vary vastly depending on what soil your using. more details on your op will get you better answers.

thanks for the help guys. i was going to do auto flowering seeds do they matter with nutrients or do i just follow the directions ive read alot on the net that they need less nutrients? but am unsure the more i read the more i get confused lol

sorry i was going to grow 5 lowryder '2' autoflowering in 11 Lt pots in canna coco in grow tent with 600w light am i complete newbie so have only gathered what info i need from the net so far and was follwing the guide i got for the link in my first post

yes...lowryders need less nutes..ive grown easyryder and deiselryder..less is better!

thanks rockbud any chance you could give me a ruff guide on what to used? start to finish was going to go with canna? yes? no?

Whatever brand of nutrients you decide to use (personal preference) I would suggest that you start off using 1/4 to 1/2 of the amount suggested. Start with a weak solution to see how your plants react. The brand schedule should give information on how often to use, as well as how much. Since you are a "complete" newbie take it slow and learn from your experiences. Keeping a Journal and Photos will help with future grows of what to do and what not to do while growing. Some more experienced growers use nutes everytime they water, others use them sparsely.

Not to digress too much but I've heard mixed reviews of Canna - I know they're high quality, but from my experience they are a bit finicky/intense. I know when I was growing hydroponically, I absolutely hated them because they were so unstable with pH; I stuck with general hydroponics in that scenario. (Although I used Cannazyme and Rhizotonic and loved it - definitely look into those additives)

Maybe in soil they're more reliable or easier to use. Good luck, and like others have said start slow so as not to burn. Maybe someone on the forums has used them extensively or has a good plan you could follow? The general plan they give you with the nutrients on the bottle is always iffy. IE: Fox farms says 2-4tsp a gallon and that's way too intense at first for those nutes.

I used fox farm ocean forest soil..ff tiger bloom,and ff big bloom!I used half the rec.dose..worked great for me!now I'm using ff cha ching also..but it very strong..so I wudnt start out using that yet.good luck!
