Newbie.. Is this bugs or deficiency?

Hi all,

On my first grow in coco using canna range, have been under 12/12 a week now and i have started getting shiny looking patches on the leaves.
I thought perhaps water splash but have been extra cautious and more have appeared and on some higher leaves to, a few of the older marks have turned brown.
There is a deformed looking leaf too unsure if this is part of problem or just a genetic thing?
Ive read a few pages but still unsure if its a bug or perhaps a deficiency?
Ive been following cannas feed chart for hard water and normal feeding and keep ph at 6.
Here are some pics, if anyone can help would be great.

Thanks.

A little pH swing will cause twisted growth like that.

They look fine for the most part, I don’t see any sign of pests. They look a bit low on nitrogen, but that could be poor air circulation. The droplets could be consensation.

We’re going to need more information to be of any help, what lights are you using and what is your growing space, what are your temperatures and relative humidity?

Is your water hard? Have you looked up your municipal water data to check, or used some aquarium test kits to check its qualities?

I am guessing you need more light and a fan.

Thanks for the reply.

I did have a slight drop in ph a little while ago got bit carried away with ph down but tried correcting just adding tap water which might not of been best?

Would condensation happen as lights first go on? Ive only checked on them when lights have been on for about 8hrs.

The lights im using are x1 250w 2700k cfl, x4 55w 3000k cfl and x2 20w 2700k cfl.
My space is a 1mx1mx2m tent with a small oscilating fan.

Temperatures have fluctuated a little recently as we've had some warm days and with adding the 250w cfl for flowering caused a rise. At the higest its been 31°c and 80rh:???:, i since put 2 pc fans by side vent and now have 27°c and 55rh daytime, nightime drops to 20°c and 40rh.

Ive got a ph and ec meter and tested tap water, it comes out ph7 ec.6

I'm about to get an extractor fan and filter as soon as i got the money, hopefully keep my temperatures more consistant, was thinking a 4"rvk?

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

Michael is definitely on the right track but I would look REAL close for thrips. These spots are a definite possibility indicating that. Look for tiny black spots on top of leaves, it's their shit and underside the leaf for the actual bug. Use a magnifying glass if you have one. Hopefully it's not but better to catch it now rather than later.

They're real small, slender and whiteish looking.

The leaf curl is TMV and the spots look like you’ve been water the spot instead of the soil. Could be green peach aphids the leave a stick dew on your leaves, check the stalk.

Thanks for the replys guys,

Picking up my new extractor fan saturday and have turned my oscilating fan up and put some extra pc fans by the vent to help with air flow and temperatures.

Ive had another bug search and havent found any yet. I will have more time on weekend, and I dont have a magnifing glass so will get 1 saturday and have a real good search.
