Hey there, first grow here. Looking for some helpful hints about potting soils.
I'm in the process of sprouting a couple Acapulco Gold's at the moment, and I'll need something hearty to transplant them to for veg - and eventually, budding.
I've looked around and have yet to really make up my mind as to what works well together. I like the idea of taking an aeroponics approach to potting mix by using perlite/peat moss, but I've also read some good things about coco and manure composts.
So, here's my first theoretical potting mix (for use with liquid nutes):
2 Parts Coco (fiber/powder blend)
1 Part Perlite
1 Part Peat Moss
1 Part Composted Horse Manure
A Pinch of Lime (to help the coco buffer the manure)
I've been considering bone meal or bat droppings, but I'm someone who feels less is more. I like it simple, but I certainly don't want to miss out on anything useful.
So gimme ur infoz plz!
