Hey everyone, I am new to the site and just looking for a little insight on few things. This is my first post so I am going to apologize in advance if this is the wrong area to be posting..Sry everyone.
So let me get into it quick this is the first time have ever attempted any grow and I feel like m not doing to bad, everything is looking pretty good except for 2 of the ladies that look a like a lime green but that's another topic. After doing some basic research on soils/ soiless mixtures ] made the decision to go with promix and just for extra drainage some perlite. The ladies are currently under 4 cfl's 6500kv daylight lights. That's a little setup as well as a fan to keep from lets say stale air.
Now for the newbie mistake I have been watering with bottled water that sits out for 24 hours and all seemed to be good that is until I got a ph tester (drops) and realized the water im using is a ph of 8.0 and I have been watering for about 3 weeks now...is it time to introduce nutes to them though? are gthey getting to that point where they will need them?.. after some research I chose earth juice. Got the grow and the bloom but am having problems with the ph level now like I said before the most current water situation is a ph of 8.0
mixture
1 tablespoon of EJ grow
1 teaspoon of EJ bloom
1 gallon of water = a ph of 4.0 even after bubbling for 24-48 hours
I don't know about you guys but that doesn't seem very neutral to me
Anyways when I first tested my water and it read 8.0 I new I had to neutralize it a bit more so I used DNF 20% ph dwn to get it to about 5.5 - 6.5 ph and then added nutes. like I said after the bubbling its still sitting at 4.0 ph
so I have decided to completely dilute the mixture to where the mixture sits at a 5.5 to 6.5 and I want to start using that for my basic nute feed...
So I geuss my questions are..
should I feed even after bubbling even though its reading a 4.0?
Should I dilute mixture and ease on a bit higher of a ph than the original 8.0 distilled water?
Will going from a 8.0 ph to a 5.5 - 6.5 ph suddenly... damage the girls?
Anyways I know this post is pretty basic but any helpful ideas or experience would be greatly appreciated
