Nirvana Blackjack and Indoor Mix Grow

My grow is 3 blackjack and 3 indoor mix from Nirvana.

I started germination with paper towels on 9/12/10 and planted seeds directly into peat pots with straight Fox Farm Ocean Forest. There is nothing added to the soil, I used it just as it came from the bag. The first of the babies sprouted on 9/16 and all of them were sprouted by 9/20.

I vegged them 18/6 under 4, 4’ T8 fluorescent shop lights until 10/24 when they were placed into a 4’X4’X7’ Mylar grow tent under a 400W MH.

The attached photos are from about 1 week into veg until re-potting into 2 gallon pots on 10/27.

The light is cooled by a DIY bake-a-round cool tube powered by a 4" inline fan drawing through the tube and out the tent. Ventilation is provided by a 6" inline fan drawing air through passive vents on the bottom of the tent and exhausted out the back of the tent. Temperatures remain at 68-75 degrees. The current light schedule is still 18/6. i will be switching to MH and going 12/12 sometime in the next week or so. Nutes have been straight Earth Juice grow at 1 TBS per gallon. PH is around 6-6.5. Odor control isn't a big issue for me at this time and will be addressed as needed.

This is first real grow. I started 2 blackjack and 2 indoor mix this past spring. I only had one female, a blackjack and one male indoor mix. I thought I had pulled the male in time but I ended up with 2 seeds in the black jack. I germed them 2 days ago and they were put in peat pots today. I also germed 5 more black jack today as well.

i have preflowers on all 2 of the blackjack, 2 females and 1 male for sure. I'll post pics for your input tomorrow.

Of the 3 indoor mix, I THINK there may be just 1 male as well....sweet!

I was wondering when I should switch to Earth Juice Bloom....I am thinking of doing 1 more fert with Grow and then switch to bloom.

They look pretty sweet so far, are you going to top them or just put them straight to flower?

You know, I believe I am just going to put them straight to flower. What would you suggest?

I always top mine, but it'll mean you can't flower for a couple weeks so it's up to you if you want to wait that long.

Just a quick update....a group shot. The Blackjack are all on the left and the indoor mix on the right.

For sure, the front left blackjack is a male...shame, he's a a beauty!

I'll be putting them under 12/12 this coming Thursday. Should I start directly with the HPS or go a little longer with the MH? Also, next water will be straight water, no nutes. When would y'all recommend I start with the Earth Juice Bloom???

Not much has transpired since last post but I have put the plants into 12/12 as of today. I am still uncertain of the sex of most of them and, hopefully, will be able to tell soon.

Here's an update with pics. I started 12/12 yesterday and changed to a 400W HPS bulb today.

Growth has been superb!

Thanks and welcome! I've just started flowering, and suggestions or comments?

Well, it's been a while since my last posting. I ended up with 3 females out of 6; 2 blackjack the other an unknown indoor mix. They are all doing very well and are now in the third week of flowering.

I have a problem with one of the blackjack's, she's developed very badly clawed (canoed) leaves. I repotted them all and have cut back on the water. Ph is right at 6.5 and I have not used any nutes in over 2 weeks. She is producing good buds though. I'm at a loss for waht to do.

I'll post pics later as it's now "night time" for my babies.
