Nirvana vs. Everyone Else? Aurora Indica?

Hi Guys,

I've been growing for a few years now, just recently getting some good crops. The only genetics I've grown so far have been Nirvana (AK48 and Aurora Indica, growing white rhino now). Now that I can see that my setup is consistent, I'm curious about what more of an investment in seeds would do for me. I know this debate has been going on for a while, but I was hoping some of you seasoned growers out there could give me a comparison of your nirvana grows to some more specialized seeds with "better genetics."

I don't want to hear from anyone who has grown only Nirvana or only other "better strains," but would really like a subjective comparison of Nirvana strains that you have grown vs. others you have grown. Is AI a potent indica, or just for Nirvana? What have you found to be different in the non-nirvana strains?

Thanks guys!

I've grown quite a few breeders strains besides Nirvana's & I always go back to Nirvana.. coz, for the money they are very good. Other breeders seeds I have grown are
Sensi Seeds 'Northern Lights' very solid, strong, consistent plant.. Also I have grown quite a few of The Joint Doctor's beans (Lowryder 2, Diesel Ryder & Easy Ryder) Quick flowering, good stable genetics & a good high for Autos. White Label Seeds 'White Skunk' was a good one but she was mainly Sativa so had to chop her early as it was already bigger than my tent after 2 weeks of flower and just wasn't the right strain for my set-up.

It's total hit & miss really, but a lot of the final product is down to you knowing how to germ seeds properly & nurture it through the whole growing process from seed to harvest. Of course you will get dodgy genetics now & again & a Male here & there but the final product is mainly down the the grower.

In a nutshell I would rate Nirvana's seeds up there with the 'premium' breeders strains I have grown.

Nirvana strains are ok, but for the same price you can get genetics that ae far better, such as sannies, dinafem, dutch passion etc...

i agree nirvana is a great bank but i have a taste for other strains.... u should look into breeding if u dont like spending that much money... the best ones i've done so far is Alphakronik and Cali Connection

Sounds good guys. I'm interested to check out some other breeders, so I'll check out sannies and dinafem for sure. thanks iamaaror

Would definitely have to agree with edsthreads about the grower--I always feel like so many complaints about seed companies seem to be grower issues.

I just harvested a Nirvana AI grow. Quite potent for sure, but you won't be doing the thorazine shuffle to the fridge either. I've had decent results with other grows; Nirvana isn't the "be all, end all" of seed providers, but I have never had any issues that make me never want to purchase from them. Just about everything they sell can be purchased anywhere else under some other similar name (AK47 vs. AK48, Jack Herrer vs Jock Horror).

Nirvanas Papaya is a winner in my book. Easy grow, fast finisher and very tolerant. G13 Labs Pineapple Express(not the auto)if probably the most pleasant surprise I have grown in years. A few different phenos with none of them bad. Some sweet, some sour and some in between but all very nice smoke. The really sour pheno grown with some care will yield some top shelf smoke. Clones well and is pretty forgiving during the grow. Also Paradise seeds Acid, only grew out a freebie seed, but the results where positive enough that I will be buying some beans and running it again next fall indoors......

And as mentioned it seems most complaints about Nirvana or any breeder is just the grower passing the buck.......
yep.. a lot of noobs growers go for Nirvana's seeds as they're cheaper than most others, then they get them, don't really know what they're doing & blame the seed company

That's what I figured. I'm getting very good results with nirvana as far as I can tell, veg and flower with cfls, but just wanted to see some experienced growers' opinions. Thanks
