Noob Question about top feed hydro'

Hello.

I have a Versa-Grow Hydroponics system w/10 sites.

What would be the best Grow-Medium for this system?
I was thinking about rock-wool and hydroton with the steaks in the
rockwool.

That should be sufficient right?

yes...rockwool and hydroton

That system is made for rockwool. Never liked it myself. Have always been an F&D man (gravel medium). But many have had good results with that setup.

Should I put the top drip on the rock-wool or around the rockwool with the hydroton?
Don't want any root rot.
