How far north are you talking?
I knew some people who grew Holland's Hope pretty far north in NY. If you have a short growing season you might want to try some autos or some of Female Seeds X-Line hybrids which have some ruderalis in them but are designed for northern climates. Good luck!

I have about the same growing times as you, I'm in north eastern NY near Vermont and mold is an issue. Last year I tries nirvana super skunk which was awesome but lost my top buds to mold and they finished right about this time last year. This year I tried to get some earlier finishing Strians. I got Barney's grape ape, chronic thunder, and GDP's GDP. All were finished before Oct 6th but the grape ape and GDP both got some mold the GDP more the the grape but the chronic thunder was spotless. So chronic thunder may work for you. I'm looking at Delicious breeders strains for next year, a lot claim to finish mid September and highly resistant to mold, namely sugar black rose, northern light blue, and cheese candy though that strain claims late Sept.

Pure indicas finish early, which is probably the best thing going for them for outdoor growing. Some of these will be done as early as mid-September outdoors on the East Coast. They also tend to be cold-resistant, which is another plus if you get an early cold-snap.

Unfortunately, indicas (by definition) come from dry climates, and they also tend to be susceptible to mold. So pure ones may not be the best choice for outdoor growing depending on fall humidity where you are.

Speaking in general, the Canadian outdoor strains tend to be acclimated to colder/wetter falls. Texada Timewarp is one from British Columbia that does well outdoors under these conditions. Holland's Hope is another one bred to tolerate Holland's wet cold falls. Most of them won't grow into "trees", but you can use autos to completely bypass fall/winter conditions and harvest early (or even any time you like) if you need to. This is part of the reason they are so popular in Europe.

You could try Lambo by THSEEDS, it is a fast flowering guerrilla strain that is resistant to the elements. Or try the semi auto flowering outdoor strains from FemaleSeeds.nl

Lambo has a late finish for up here and buddies ran it this year- big plants but cut early b/c of rot like 2 weeks ago- never fully finished, we have tried many types and this year the NL's did better than average but we had a crap October that rotted many of the strains that have a Oct finish. Next summmer- the spots are getting load with Timewarp and yes, you can grow more potent bud but since hunting season up here starts on Oct 1st, most people I know want and need plants cut by then. We can "him and ha" about what the best and strongest but if you want a good harvest and some $ in your pocket- go with reliable outdoor BC strains and save yourself a ton of trouble, I was totally impressed with the couple Timewarps I saw finish this year, loading up on it for 2014. Come this winter, I am getting a pack to mother out for spring time. Indoors I try out all the new strains but for outsky's- I go ole school with tried and true genetics. Gani's would work well also imo, best wishes and good luck in 2014.

like what upstate2626 said go with the strains breed for the bc region and you can find what you seek. wet short seasons is what they are breed for, plus your not stuck with just one type bud.

Im in NY near the VT border and up here the humidity is just awful during the summer. At least for the last 2 years so def get a good mold resistant strain. Like the others I would recommend something from BC, with a tip of my hat to the Timewarp. A friend of mine has great results with Blackberry Kush out here, but he's also a much more accomplished grower than I so.
