Northern light auto flower by nirvana

Hey guys, let me start by saying this is my 2nd grow. I bought 5 fem northern light autos from attitude. My original plan was to grow 2 at a time in my 5' 3' wide and 2' deep grow box. When I started , the temps were really low and I damaged the tap root to one of them when planting. The first two died due to the low temps and my fuck up. So I started one on the 8th of April because at the time, one of the first ones wasn't dead. I planted the 4th one on the 19th and it didn't shed its seed casing, so I was told to take it off. Right now it doesn't have fully developed cotyledons and I'm waiting for it to hopefully recover. But the specs of my grow:
- 2x 105 watt 6500k cfls
- ffof soil and big bloom tiger bloom grow big trio
- 2x 5 gallon buckets with holes at the bottom
- the inside of the grow room is covered with tin foil
- using pH strips to test water
- 20/4 light cycle

Well a big update!! Growth is abundant on plant 1 and I gave her the first dose of nutes last Friday. Gave her 1/4 strength grow big. The little one is finally growing and looking good

Wow, the first one looks great. I think 2 zips from her (dried and cured) might be a little ambitious, but certainly 1 zip looks achievable.

How are your lights set up? It's too late to train the main stem, so in order to get light to the lower bud sites, you might need to start positioning your bulbs around the sides of your plant. She looks nice and healthy, though. Nice job.

Well I have 2 105 watt cfls, 1 directly sideways over each plant, when I begin to give them the flowering nutes I was going to add around 100 more watts of 23 watt cfls around the the lower bud sites

image.jpgBeen awhile since an update, but anyway looking great! Plan on adding side lighting as soon as I find some fixtures to set up. Little plant was doing good but recently started turning brown and I was told it needed nutes so I gave it nutes. Unfortunately it turned out to be nute burn and I just made it worse... My questions are: should I toss it and start another? When should I start flowering nutes on the big one? She's at week 5 and 5 days.

Your plant is looking good man. Nice and healthy. How tall is she? How long does this strain take to finish? I'd imagine you should start seeing white pistils all over the place here pretty soon. Good luck on your grow.

You are kind of in a dilemma. Your older plant should be flowering right now since it is an auto. I would suggest changing your light cycle to 12/12 but you have that younger one still vegging that needs a longer daylight cycle. If you aren't overly attached to the younger one, I would suggest scrapping it and focusing on the older healthy plant. It started showing pistils a while ago so you could decrease the veg nutes and add the flowering nutes but go light on them. Tiger bloom can burn very easily.

Next is your lighting. 5000k is the wrong spectrum for marijuana. Stick with 6500k(cool white) for veg and 2700k(warm white) for flower. Once you start the flowering nutes and 12/12 you are going to want to get some 2700k bulbs. The sun puts out something like 10,000 lumens per square foot so you want to get as close to that as you can. I grow one plant with 5000 lumens of 6500k bulbs in veg and 8000 or 2700k bulbs in flower with great results. I used to know the equation to convert watts into lumens but I forgot it. There are a ton of threads on lighting with that info on here. Search, research and read!

hope this helps.

EDIT: The packages your bulbs come in should tell you how many lumens each bulb puts out so just add them together.

Sorry I haven't updated I awhile, but the girls are doing fantastic. Nice aroma and buds growing evwrywhere! The smaller one came to life and has pistils shooting out aswell. The big on should be done in about 2-3 weeks if you go by the breeders advice saying 60-80 days. She's at day 62 right now. Feeding big bloom and tiger bloom to big one and big bbloom and grow big to the smaller one. Also, the big one is pretty freakin tall,I'd say around 2 ft maybe

You have way more then 2-3 weeks yet, she hasn't even started to swell or anything.

Oh and nirvana had a bad bunch of seeds that were suppose to be autos but ended up being photo instead, if you never changed your light cycle it might be a good idea.

I don't think I need to, they're both flowering on a 20/4 light schedule

A little update. The smaller one took off and is now shooting out pistils. It's still pretty short , maybe about a foot tall. The bigger one is getting bigger and bigger! The buds smell a little musty I must say... Humidity has been up in the 80's and 70's. temp stays around 80. Sorry if I sound a little odd I'm just high as fuck . But anyway, I'm posting some pics of it right now
