Northern lights dead?? Autofem kicking it?

of water was and IS at 6.5 on the dot, right out of the bottle, after putting in APPROPRIATE dose of organic ferts, runoff, soil right after mixed (before planting) - the whole damn nine!!! It's always stayed at a consistant 6.5 until one day I made an organic compost mix of rotting fruit (it SHOT THE PH SKY HIGH - but after much diluting and testing I finally got the plants dose right. I treat all of my plants the same, if I run into a problem (which doesnt happen TOO often) I just research it or already know how to fix it!

This plant HAD a mag deficiency and it wasn't getting it's N. Leaves were yellowing at the tips, started at the old fan leaves until it became apparent that it was also happening on the NEW growth. Nonetheless, she hasn't showed sex yet or any preflowers/pistils and I'm really worried this one isn't going to make it! So worried that I have a White Widow Fem. in a shotglass, covered and waiting to sink lol. But I REALLY WANT THIS PLANT TO LIVE! Because it's a hybrid, NL/Skunk and God I wanted to smell those buds!

It may still be save'able tho! It seems like the new growth is still growing - just at a stunted pace. EVERY fan leaf died!!! I just don't know! I think it may have gotten root bound and the roots were starting to drown in it's own ferts/h20. It was transplanted from a half dixie cup (my seed starting mix and where germinated seeds are first planted) into its FULL dixie cup (my second step in transplanting and consist of 60% seed starting mix and 40% Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Once she gets about 4-5 GOOD leaf sets or shows me it's sex I usually transplant all plants into there 4 gallon finishing buckets... perfectly set up!

I think I F'd up on this one though, because something went wrong on this plant. It was in it's second stage (of my transplanting method) and it was coming along nicely after the deficiencies were taken care of.... then one afternoon after work (yesterday), I come home to THIS!!! I almost couldn't believe it!!! It was and is still smelling SO GOOD and it was just ALL OF THE FAN LEAVES!? I Immediatly cut the cup open and pulled it, I thought it needed more room, soil was hot, SOMETHING! When I pulled it the rootball was SOOO WIERD!! They usually come out the shape of whatever its buried in ya know? Held together by soil, moisture and roots. They are usually almost albino white and cover the entire shape of the compacted soil. Not this one!

The roots looked like baby worms, and the soil didn't stay together at all no matter how fragile I was!!! Roots were about 5-6 long (actually longer than the dixie from top of cup to bottom!!!) and they were a wierd amberish/brownish/not looking healthy color. I've seen plenty of MJ roots, none like this! Nonetheless, I sprayed all the roots with superthrive/h20 mixture until all the roots were completely visible. I then CLIPPED the roots that looked F'd and it left a normal looking root system, only about a half dollar in size though - coming right off the plants main stalk underneath. I dipped them in rooting hormone and planted them in new soil. Then I sprayed the water/ST mixture on the plants exterior after the dead leaf removal. (all in pictures) Sorry I couldn't take the pics while this was happening, I have a droid and it wont cut on no matter if the phone charger is plugged in or not and it was dead. I DID however get the before and after pictures of the leaf trim.... as well as the way it looked like (still does) when it was on the verge of death! I put it back in a half dixie cup with some new soil, as said. If it takes back off again I'm going to take it straight to its final resting place - 4 gallon pot!

SO WHAT DO YALL THINK? DOES THIS SEEM LIKE A GOOD IDEA AND WAY TO SAVE IT? I WAS JUST GOING OFF OF INSTINCT! I'M DOING NOTHING TO IT FOR A FEW DAYS BUT MAYBE SOME FOLIAR SPRAY OF THE ST/H20.... JUST WANTED A SECOND OPNINION! THIS IS WEEEEEEEKKKKKK UUUUUM 5 I BELIEVE, AT THE MOST!

BEFORE THE TRIM.... EEEEEKKKKKK!!!!

AFTER HER HAIRCUT... HA!

THE DEAD CRISPY, CRACKER LEAVES.... BASTARDS.

NOW MY AUTOFEM CRITICAL JACK WHICH WAS "BORN" AKA GERMED AND PLANTED ALL AT THE SAME TIMES, WITHIN MINS.... IS LOOKING RIGHT! AND HAS STARTED FLOWERING, ABOUT 5-6 MORE WEEKS!!! NOTHING BUT MOLLASSES/H20 AND BIG BLOOM FROM HERE ON OUT. ONE MONDAY (ORGANIC FERTS) AND ONE ON THURSDAY (VERY DILUTED ORGANIC MOLLASSES)! SEEMS TO BE WORKING DAMN GOOD, AND SHE SMELLS OH SO DELICIOUS TOO BTW!!!! YUM!

I'M GOING TO PROBABLY LST THIS (LIKE MY LAST GROW) AND GROW FOR AS LONG AND BIG AS POSSIBLE!!! I WANT 50+ G'S!!!!!

you seem to be burning them , maybe over watering them too .. you shouldnt see any negative signs on a plant so small, i think you are loving them too much m8, try hold back a little on the food and water
peace :)

I understand what ur saying but I'm telling you, these plants are not getting burnt up or tended to too often. They get their Ph balanced h20 when they're dry... And I mean DRY! (usually about eeehh every 2-3 days) I LEARNED that on my first 10 grows, not to over attend to them. I'm not sure wth happened to it. I want to say it wasn't ready for its big pot when I transplanted and just got F'd up somehow?? Temps are PERFECT. I pulled it again ttoday because it was getting sicklier, even tho I didn't think that was possible! I cut the whole root system off and now I'm treating it as a clone. Cut the tip at a sharp angle and its in some Ph balanced water with some superthrive. I'm letting it soak for about 30 mins and then it will be pulled, covered in rooting hormone and dropped into a small cup of "organic seed starting mix" which I've always had a 100% success rate using this method. Hopefully it will grab and begin its life again. (I rhymed hehe) lol. So that's what's popping off right now! With the NL.

way too much food for their age. Careful with the ST also. Love the stuff myself but its some powerful stuff.
There isn't any food? Its gotten nothing but water and my ST mix is ONE DROP to every gallon! I know its HIGHLY concentrated.... Trust me lol. The only food it got ever was from the seed starting mix.... If anything. Its baffling me because I'm about 20-0 when it comes to bought seeds producing (outdoors mostly tho).

My Auto Critical Jack is still THRIVING like CRAZY nonetheless! I started to LST it last night, I'm going to try and get the best out of her! Here's a couple pics...

She's in a two gallon bucket, do u think this will be enough? Room is an issue and I got a great 2 oz harvest off a Fruity Loops Kush in a 3 gallon last grow (same lighting setup).

Yes, I think u hit the nail on the head. I was treating an auto the same way as a reg strain. The auto adjusted easier to its new pot and nutes faster I think due to its toughness and short life. The hybrid on the other hand didn't adjust.... Here's some pics just to keep y'all posted and what's going on.... The auto is flourishing with the LST'n, there are new bud spots every day, I tried to snap a few photos... Check it out

FRIED NL HYBRID IN HER HUMIDITY DOME, WHATTYA THINK? GUNA MAKE IT???

CRITICAL JACK AUTO, THRIVING WITH LST! !!

I'm excited about her!!!!! But If the NL is truly dead, check my other threads, there's a journal of a white widow I'm doing right now as well!

I'm surprised that little plant is still going. I would have thought you would have killed it with all of your "kindness"!!

Yea I'm a kind fellow... I think its starting to root again, I may pull it n a cpl days n see what's goin on down there! Its in the humidity dome still of course. When should it be released back into the wild? And when should I introduce it to the organic FF TRIO??

I am a total Noob but if it was "me" I would take that little thing out of that clear cup and put her into a larger pot that isnt clear, and then feed her with only water and NO nutes. Just to see if she will take off.
