Duh:lol:You should keep the cup covered with plastic and a rubber band till the shell falls offbongsmilieIf you want to help the shell using tweezers be very carefully:eyesmoke:try it with tweezers after it really humid and wet so the shell will come off a lot easier:clap:it will help them a long lot:hump:

i don't think so scooter. file thirteen is probably right your soil looks crappy. you could start your seeds in a rockwool cube keep the cubes warm and moist. once the taproot comes out the bottom of the cube, put her in your new soil... I would snag some foxfarm ocean forest. Lil expensive but will feed your plants what they need to grow like crazy! good luck

i would start over with this one, but its the only seed i had of it... so im gonna try to take the casing off.

and no its not backyard soil its a loam mixture, been doing it this way for a few years now with almost perfect results. this year i have had that odd mutated lowryder and now this. i will do the cubes next year, seems much much easier. i also need some for cloning too.

thanks all, will follow up as soon as i know the outcome, dead or alive ;P

The problem isn't the dirt the shell is too dry for the plant to push it off~covering it with plastic just like I would a transplant and or a clone or whatever to keep the humidity higher till the roots have a good hold:finger::finger::finger::finger::finger::finger::finger:Puck FFOF:eyesmoke:

^ i should have thought about that, silly me, i just dont want to burn it now that its 90+degrees out, its got a bag over it now and condensation is building up, how long you figure til i try to pop it off?

No its finished. If this process isnt complete(seedling pushing the shell away) soon after germination ,its out of gas, no energy left. i dont think u did anything wrong in germination just got some dud seeds.

update
put the bag w/ elastic over, shaved down some toothpicks to create mini "prye bars" let it sit in the sun with the bag for a few hours, and just now, used the toothpicks to pop the casing off, and we have 2, healthyish looking cotyledon (right?) leaves.

charging my camera, so will take some pics as soon as i can

You cover your transplants with plastic? Sounds like horrible advice to me. As for your comment on ffof, i don't get it... You would have to be an absolutley horrible grower, intentionally trying to mess your plants up (like covering them in plastic) for it not to work perfectly.

sad day, she finally bit it.

looked promising but, as *BUDS said, she didnt have enough energy to go on. she shriveled up to nothing over the past 36 hours.
