Just finishinging week 8 of flower and this strain confusing the shit out of me.all Pistils (hairs) turned color at 4 weeks which seemed early to me. Not the pistil tips the entire pistil but stayed straight didn't curl and die. Buds stacked up nice but never got real fat. Supposed to be fem purple kush 8-9 week strain. Very strong skunk/grape smell ,extremely oily but not too sticky? I think they are fattening more now at this late in flower. Do some strains not get sticky, or will that come and do I still have a couple weeks before chop?? Here are some pics20230111_051508.jpg20230110_220545.jpg20230110_215504.jpg20230109_211548.jpg20230104_213530.jpg

The way I do it is to take a piece now, dry it and smoke it, see how it smokes. From the pics another week looks needed. I like to sample to find the best harvest window for each strain.

I would lean towards longer than the recommended. I check the crystals under the mic to see their maturity. That works for me.

These are seasonal plants so they will make it very clear when they are at the end of their lifecycle. They stop feeding and start pulling nutrients out of their leaves. Generally I see a decline in most strains health the time they are ready.

I also give my plants atleast 48 hours of darkness before I chop. This just allows for all the relevant biological processes to complete themselves. I cant quote the exact sciences here but from what I understand is that the energy absorbed during the period of light is processed during the dark period.

Anither thing you can start doing is shortening the period of light. So move from 12/12 to 11/13 and 10/14. If you look at season change, light hours get less and less which gets the plants closer and closer to the end of their lifecycle.

Other than that, its look8ng really good man. Congrats.
