NPK Industries?

I'm really liking the look of NPK Raw nutrients and getting a vibe from the really cool videos Harley Smith does for them. Does anyone have any experience using NPK Raw?

If you're going to go that route, why not just go DIY nutes?
churchhaze: I may be mistaken, but I live in California and it seemed from a few of the sites I went on a lot of the more DIY nutes wont ship the good stuff to CA. Anyway, the Raw line seems pure and cost efficient and an overall improvement over bottles enough for me. (If you have any info re: the CA thing, I'd appreciate it)

Thanks. Any reason you wouldn't recommend for hydro?
They don't provide the 411 for hydro (which makes no sense to me), Anyway, I tried it and shot myself in the foot by adding their separate veg and flower microbes + Humic acid (my dumbass idea).

The combination turned to mush on my roots, and my roots to mush, preventing proper nutrient uptake, This probably reduced my yield by 60%+. When I contacted them about the microbes, only then did they say microbes are not for hydro, but to use enzymes and aminos instead. so, if you use their veg and flower formulas + enzymes and aminos you might have killer results.

I haven't tried it as I have 3-4 grows worth of Emerald Harvest liquid nutes tht need to be used up

Thanks man, appreciate it.
Though unfortunate, can't hold the microbe thing against company.
Btw, are you saying you added the veg + flower microbes at the same time, or separate?
I hear you with the phasing in new products while having current stuff. But the more I've been looking into it, the more comfortable it feels, I like the vibe. I just took the plunge and ordered every single muthafuckin' item they make, so can't say didn't give a fair shake.

Will arrive tomorrow. I'm just going to plunge and make a total shift starting next feeding. If anything goes south I'll switch back to the big names and try to figure it out. But the product seems really honest and cost efficient. The entire line covers every aspect of existence for a plant, so anything other than success, my first inclination will be some user error on my part.

Anyway, that's where it stands: Great results with the big names, but you read the back of the labels and tally the cost and get to thinking $40 - $50 a bottle? I can make all this shit for pennies, but do I really want kilo bags of potassium nitrate lying around?.. So I got won over, even if nothing more than I like Harley Smith way better than Big Mike. Looking forward to the switch, will report any noticeable difference, good or bad, for any interested.

I guess a side question would be does anyone have thoughts on commercial powder lines? Lotus and Gringo Rasta look ok but basic grow/bloom. AM Hydro looks interesting but just blends. A lot of the big companies have good powder products sprinkled into their line (Big Bud, Bud Blood, Fox Farm's flower boost trio, etc.) but all auxilary boosts and cocktails. Roots Organics has powdered bases and supplements, but what's attractive about Raw to me is the comprehensive, categorized coverage without overlap and redundancy between products: "This does this, and this does that and some of this, this does that and this too." Just X, Y, Z, as clean as possible.

What chemical were you trying to get that said it won't ship to CA? I'm sure you could get a bag of calcium nitrate there. The only ingredient I can think that would be hard to get besides ammonium nitrate (you will be flagged), is potassium nitrate, which if you really must, you could probably replace with potassium sulfate. Then instead of using magnesium sulfate, you could use magnesium nitrate.

It's kind of sad that these chemicals would need to be regulated. Someone's gotta mix em or nobody will have hydroponics. (premixed formulas don't magically come into existence)

It is sad and stupid, CA is such a nanny state. They just made my rifle an "assault" rifle, hell, I just found out it's totally legal to buy magic mushroom spores in the rest of the country...
I do totally get you on the reasoning for raw minerals, that line of thinking is what draws me in this direction. Tips on best bulk minerals and from where are welcome. At the same time, I don't need to go full on industrial. I like the look of Raw because it seems like a logical bridge between full on industrial, and consumer friendly commercial. Best I see at least at doing that.

well, they recommended them, even though I told them my method is hydro. The Humic was on me
