Nute problems

Hi all

Been growing for the last 8 months and I am having trouble getting the nutes right early just after planting clones. The clones, once the roots start developing appear to get nute burn with yellow tips of leaves, but also have very purple stems, which I read was some sort of deficiency. Not sure where any nute burn would come from as I dont use nutes untill they start to grow (which takes frikkin ages, about a month).
The soil is nute free and only mixed with perlite.

Why is it taking so long for my clones to get off the ground and what nutrient do they need/have to much of.

Any help appreciated.

what kind of nutes are you giving the clones? make sure its nutes that improve root development not nutes that veg. a plant. i think thats why this is happening and your giving them too much food
