Nutrient Levels with CFLs

Hail all,

My CFL Cabinet is finally ready to accept plants. I’ve ordered two clones from a local dealer/dispensary.
Delivery of one Blue Dream clone and a DJ Shorts Blueberry clone is scheduled for next Tuesday. Both are hybrids, one at each end of the spectrum.

My box is 20” x 30” with just over three feet of usable vertical.

The plants will receive 264 total watts of CFL power coming from eight, 30 and 42 watt lights.

Roots will be in a 4” rail, stinkbuddy-type aero system.

Three Questions associated with Nutrients:
  • I plan to use the GH nuts formulated via the Lucas formula (0-8-16). I’ve read that this ratio (mls/gal of Gro, micro, and bloom) was designed for big HIDs and might be too strong when using smaller lights. True?

  • Will using aero vs DWC impact the concentration of nuts?

  • I’ve read that I should start my clones off at zero nuts and slowly bring them up to full strength. How can I tell when to start feeding them, and how fast should I ramp it up?
Thanks,

I would use AN as they are half the price for exactly the same chit and contact UrbanGrower.com or on youtube for tips and tricks for your setup

Cacamal,

Thank for the tip about Urban Grower. I'll check it out.

But I'll stick with GH, or anyone other than AN. Don't like the fact that they own a glossy magazine that only pimps their nutrients and supplements. Plus, pricing at my local store for the two companies' products is similar.

Bump, I would also like some nutrient feedback for CFL grows. Especially for small soil or hempy method grows. Great question.
