Nutrient Prep

So over the winter I have been boiling granular nutes 5-3-4, blood meal, bone meal, earthworm castings, and gypsum with roots organic calmag but I had the calmag last after it cools. I generally start with three water bottles to in my head activate the nutes. Then I dump snow in and repeat till I have my feed. I'll leave it outside with the cap off to let it cool. Whatevers at the bottom I use for my next days feed only. After that I clean it. My coco is super amended so it's a hard balance. Am I dumb or is this somewhat beneficial. It just seemed right

Why would you boil nutrients?

You are killing all the wonderful microbes in the earthworm castings by boiling them to death. Meanie.

My understanding is granular nutes need 24 hours. I really need spring to come so I can use my RO filter. Rn my water situation is a tad hard. Anyway to release the nutes quicker in my head

Oh fuck. Thank you. I am gonna start adding that last after it all cools. But now I have to plan ahead and let them sit for 24 hours. Oof
