Nutrient solution problems

So I mixed a gallon on solution about 4 days ago. I came in today and there was like pulpy stuff in the gallon and it started to smell. Is there a reason this happened? I don’t have an air stone and thinking that might be why. Any help is appreciated.

What kind of 'solution'. Anything with organic matter is going to cause problems sitting in a res. If you put additives like kelp and sugars you're going to get bacteria blooms. Air Stones can make your ph rise quickly. More advisable to use a wavemaker or powerhead etc.

I’m using house and garden coco full line. When it happened all that was in there was coco a and b and roots excl

Most common reason is mixing solutions "out of order" causing some sciency shit to happen.

Always silica first for example, if that's used.

I don’t think that was the issue unless I didn’t wait long enough in between adding coco b because I added a then shake. Then b and shake then the roots excel. I’m following there whole line but diluting to my target ec
